  AJ G, This firearm is the same size as Glock 19, CZ P10C, MP 9c etc. With a 4" barrel and 7.2" overall length. It is a service size carry/compact. Not full size like the Springfields with the 5.25" barrel.

• Q: Curious as to how heavy and long the trigger is on this handgun compared to the S&W M&P 40?

  Shawn, the XD Mod 2 and the S&W M&P 40 triggers are nearly indistinguishable. The Springfield has slightly less take up before positive trigger engagement. That is about all there is to the actual difference.

  No, all firearms have to be shipped to a ffl dealers. Normally both the shipping ffl and receiving ffl have a charge to do so as well.

• Q: Can u put a 9mm barrel in it? If so will the mags accept the ammo just the same? And even sig for that matter?

  Yes, there are aftermarket 40-9mm conversion barrels on the market for the XD as well as 357 Sig barrels. Probably safer to use 9mm XD mags for the 9mm conversion, but 357 Sig should work in the .40 magazine. I've converted Glock 40/357 Sig pistols to 9mm without any problems. Storm Lake makes a good conversion barrel.
• Q: Is this pistol made of metal or a plastic/nylon polymer material?

  Polymer frame, steel slide & barrel. All XDs are Polymer.
