Well worth the money. Details: This is my first Les Baer and I'm delighted with this purchase. Both the gun and the service from Buds are outstanding, I have heard that Les Baers are tight and that is true. But the stories about having to use significant force or need to hammer the slide out are way off mark. It's tight but not stuck. I worked the slide several times over the last few days, prior to shooting it and it's gotten even better. As for the gun itself, the fit-and-finish are great. I ran my finger over areas where two parts meet and with my eyes closed, I couldn't feel the difference. It felt like a single, well polished part. The look of the gun is different than other 1911s, probably because of the serrations on the front and rear. They are very fine and grouped very closely together, which means they offer unparalleled grip and that's something that I really appreciate. The grips are made from fine wood that offers a firm grip and good looks. The safety locks firmly in place and I'm pretty sure it won't come loose in my holster as a few other 1911s I have. The gun comes in a great looking presentation box, with a glass top that allows you to see the gun sitting on its blue velvet pillow and it has a small lock too. Shooting wise, it shoots better than I do :-) where accuracy is unbelievable with perfect function. It's tight and it's reliable. Bottonline: A strong gun from an outstanding maker. To me this beautiful, functioning work of art is worth every penny.
