It seems like the price on this gun is 100$ less than usual. Wondering if there is a catch that i am missing. Can anyone tell me if i'm not seeing something unusual?

I would go with buds Buds just got these at a better deal.

These were just restocked Courtney. The higher the stock the lower the price and vice versa. You can save $ at Buds on all firearms if you pay attention to firearm stock levels.

I can’t tell by pick does it have the same mag look as mk25 and reg 226

It does not Christopher. This has a slightly angled "Sheep's foot" Base plate instead of flat.

Does this particular model come with the short extractor seen on the MK25 versions and older versions of the 226?

This pistol does not have the "Short Extractor" James. The MK25 and older 226's of course had/retain the short extractor and The current P226R's are all long extractors.
