detract from the pistol as far as I'm concerned. The Seecamp is one of the prettiest guns I own and well worth the money.
Overall, the Seecamp LWS 32 is nicely polished without being overly done and all parts move and interact smoothly right out of the box. The little gun intended from the outset to shoot jacketed hollow point bullets and this it does with boring reliability! The slide is unlocked and blow-back operated which keeps things very simple and very reliable. Field stripping is by an ingenious method where the slide is retracted enough to insert a cartridge case into the open breech. This places a small hole in the left side of the slide over a button that is pushed by using a small punch, thus releasing the slide to lift up at the rear, then be lifted off toward the front. The button it turns out is a short section of rail that keeps the rear portion of the slide down during cycling. The California version of the LWS 32 has a small, push-type safety button located in the trigger that basically locks it forward until released by pressing with a fingertip. While perusing the Seecamp website I discovered they offer replacement small parts to include a non-California trigger for those who don't favor the function.
Shooting produces virtually no recoil to speak of as is common with .32 caliber pistols, and at practical self-defense distances out to 10 feet or so, it's easy to POINT the little gun and place every shot into an 8" circle. The recently published Ellifritz study shows the .32 auto cartridge to be as effective as the larger, currently more popular calibers and one is far more likely to have an 11 ounce pocket auto like the Seecamp on them when needed, than a much heavier, much bulkier, much less concealable pistol.
The Seecamp is must buy!

A:The "California Edition" is an LWS 32 that has been modified to incorporate a trigger blocking manually operated safety that fulfills the manual safety requirements of the State of California. Prerequisite to a pistol being subjected to the laboratory drop tests and functional reliability tests, which a pistol must pass in order to be approved for sale in California, the pistol must have a manual safety.See 1 more answer |
The guideline for a manual safety is that it must be of a type that qualifies as a manually operated safety device under the BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) import guidelines. The trigger block safety (Patent No. 6,615,529) incorporated in the "California Edition" LWS32 satisfies this California requirement - hence the designation "California Edition" is stamped on the slides of this version of the LWS 32 pistol that has been approved for sale in the State of California.
