  Clynt, yes Sir. This rifle comes with a 24" Heavy Fluted Free Floating Threaded Barrel that's Threaded 5/8x24 TPI with a 1:9.3" Twist and includes Thread Protector.

  It all depends on the money. But for a rifle like this and this chambering, I would recommend a Vortex Viper HST 6 to 24 by 50. It was my pleasure to assist you.

• Q: does this LH version have the muzzle break fluted barrel exactly as the right handed version?

• Q: Is there a difference between this model and the 300 Win Mag (other than the obvious). Would like to start with 300 and get a barrel later for the 338. Can that be done or do I need to start with the 338 and also get a 300 Win Mag barrel or other magnum chambered rounds? Just want versatility out of one action/rifle, if it's possible.

  start with the .338 as the .338 Lapua version uses a different size action & bolt face and barrel shank.
