• Q: Having a hard time finding if this is legal in Illinois

  the legality of the shockwave in Illinois is unclear. The BATF has confirmed that the shockwave is a legal firearm per the gun control act (it is not a class 3 firearm ). Even though it is legal federally the shockwave may be considered as a short barreled shotgun by certain state and local laws and therefore illegal. With the mess of gun laws you have in Illinois have I would check with my local FFL as some dealers in Illinois refuse to transfer them until the Illinois state police put that they are legal in writing

  No, this is not a pistol or shotgun, it's just considered as an other/firearm. So this is completely legal in Michigan. Hope this helps.

  Colby, yes this is legal in 48 states, including NY. It is considered an 'other' weapon, not a shotgun (so it can't be SBS) because it has no stock to be shouldered, and not a pistol because it is meant to be fired with 2 hands. • Q: I'm a pistol shooter. I want to buy this for home defense. I've never shot these. I know this is a "personal preference" type of question but can anyone guide me on which to buy, 12 or 20 guage? Lots of 12 gauge models but not 20. Makes me think most are going to the 12. Any help is appreciated.

  Mark, I'm an old man and prefer 12 ga. But if you are using for home defense and may have different family members using firearm in case of self defense. Go with the 20ga. Will stop threat and easier for other family members to operate. Plenty of good 20 ga self defense rounds around. • Q: What does the FDE mean? I see this same gun blued instead of earth brown fo less money? Why the price difference?

  Hi Ronnie, FDE = Flat Dark Earth which is basically a sand color. Price difference is just due to the stock on hand.
