There are a few sticking points however, which is why I didn't give it all the stars it deserves. First off, dump the M-16 looking handle and sight. Although it does get some looks at the range of folks wondering what kind of AR is making that big boom, the sight in the handle is pretty much useless for any tactical use. I opted to install a mid-priced red dot sight on the rail, and it was perfect to keep hitting center mass and keeping the whole two eyed picture open. Also, although the KRX has the familiar bolt catch/release to give you an AR warm fuzzy, the shotgun did not like chambering from using the bolt release paddle. It just doesn't have enough spring power to strip the shell unless I pulled the charging handle all the way back and released. It fed like a champ every time using that method, but I am used to coming up on target, and releasing the bolt from the paddle.
Overall, I give the KRX a big thumbs up. There is just something ominous about unleashing ten rounds of 00 Buck on a target in a few seconds. I don't know that I will ever have the need to use the shotgun that way, but trust me, you could cut down a tree with it if the situation warranted.
Questions & Answers
Q: Can I order the handle/site and fore site for the 25125 model as is possible with the 25130 model
Louis, any carry handle and front iron sight will work. If you specifically want the one on this shotgun I'd contact the manufacturer at (816) 421-1400 and I'm sure they would be willing to sell them separately to you. Buds won't modify a firearm in any way, so you would have to purchase them separately. Hope this helps.See 2 more answers |
Richard, two round magazine available here >>> https://acefirearmsshop.com/product/panzer-arms-ar-12-bp-12-2-round-magazine/ .....You can also get a magazine limiter, unfortunately that is out of stock. >>>https://advancedtactical.com/vr-series-magazine-limiter-2-rounds.htmlSee 2 more answers |
This will work great with rifled slugs. It has a 3 inch chamber so you can shoot 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. With being semi automatic I'd stick with standard to high velocity 2-3/4 inch shells to make the bolt cycle correctly, because it may or may not have issues cycling with low velocity 2-3/4 inch shells. Lastly yes the stock is monolithic. Hope this helps.See 1 more answer |
