I am very pleased with the shotgun. It handles beautifully, and really smokes the clay pigeons. The muzzle was a little bit rough and required a little bit of work to remove some of the burrs. I used a very fine file. I would definitely recommend this shotgun to a friend.

Buds was excellent to work with, they kept me posted on the progress of the order. This is a good low priced over/under I have 100 shells through it now at the skeet range. It is mechanically sound. It did ship with wrong chokes, a call to Tristar fixed that, the finish looks and feels cheep but that’s the worst of it , again it’s a low priced shotgun and breaks clays well when I do my part.

Bought a 12 gauge Tristar Trinity last year just because of the light weight to carry in the field. I have several shotguns in 12 and 20 including 2 Berettas and a Browning. Tristar shoots every bit as good and feels as good as well. My cancer returned and port this time is close to shooting shoulder. After discussing with Doc, decided to buy a 28 to mitigate recoil so close to port. Had a friend who always loved the LT, so sold it to him. Bought the Setter as it was a bit heavier than the 28 Trinity LT. It is a sweet shooter. Have only run about 100+ through it but it handles clays with ease and points quick and decisive. Very happy with the purchase.

Awesome shotgun! The gun feels great and looks great as well. The Turkish walnut is beautiful to say the least. Ive only put a box of shells through it so far, but didn’t have any issues. If you're looking for a really nice over/under shotgun that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, I recommend taking a look at the Tristar lineup!

Beautiful gun - shipped with wrong chokes but were replaced by Tristar asap. Company easy to contact - have not shot yet because of Covid. Gun is balanced beautifully. Safety was stiff out of the box but is fine with lube. As mentioned by others - break action is stiff until lubed, good and tight, looking forward to shooting many boxes of ammo.

When I saw the photo and price of this shotgun I thought it had to be a "glamour shot" to make a cheap gun look good. But I had heard good things about the 28 gauge and had never shot one. I took the bait and ordered the gun from Bud's, that from previous experience had only good service from. When the gun was delivered to my gunsmith who is also an FFL holder he looked it over before calling me. When I went to pick it up a couple days later the first thing I asked him as I walked in the door was well, how does it look. He immediately answered it is a beautiful gun. When I took it out of the box I was pleasantly surprised! I brought it home and test fired both barrels and it could not have worked better. An indicator of my satisfaction was the fact two weeks later I ordered the same model in a 20 gauge from Bud's and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

I took the TRI-STAR SPORTING ARMS SETTER O/U 28GA 28VR out today for some skeet. The gun went bang and broke clay birds well. So far I am very pleased with the quality of the shotgun and its handling characteristics. Hopefully it will remain serviceable for many years. A good shotgun at a very good price. Glad I bought it and if no problems develop I may consider getting a 20ga.
