One of the smoothest shooting handguns that I have ever owned. This one is definitely a family heirloom to be passed on down to generations. I highly recommend any caliber DW 1911.

After recently picking up an ECO in 9mm from Bud's, I found myself quickly bitten by the Dan Wesson bug. I couldn't resist the Vigil Commander in 9mm, and have absolutely NO buyer's remorse over this purchase! Tolerances are typical Dan Wesson perfect. Every mating surface looks like it was cut with a microsurgery laser. The sights are dead-on, the trigger is spectacularly crisp with a nice, predictable clean break. Take-down and re-assembly is traditional 1911 straight-forward, and it's as nicely done under the hood as it is on the outside. The crowning on the barrel is beautifully done, and the front/back strap checking looks like it was done by a professional jeweler. The only thing "entry level" about the Vigil is the price point. You can spend your $$ on upgrades, or you can pick up a DW and be done with it.
