This is my second Savage rifle and of high quality as expected. It's comfortable to shoot and extremely accurate. The action was smooth when new and has even improved with use. I highly recommend this firearm, Bud's service and price was exceptional.

Shoots great love the iron sights it’s so hard to find a rifle with decent sights. But this one has great sights dead on out of the box well worth the money

I enjoy this rifle at the range. The heavy weight is not bad if I am not moving around too much. I use cheap russian steel ammo in it. At a hundred yards I can place my hits in the X ring consistently. The bull barrel really allows constant shooting all day long. I put a Nikon Pro 3x9 on it and it serves me well. The magazine is temperamental and is a design flaw from the start. It should have a standard AR style universal magazine but it does not. For the price of the rifle and with the scope I am still under $500 for a decent set up. For a gun that I can run at the range and use in a deer stand I am pleased with the Savage Hog Hunter. As always Buds is the best. I did 180 days layaway on this rifle, no interest and convenience. Awesome!

If you plan on replacing the stock like I was with an aftermarket one then get the other model, the model 11/111 hog hunter, as there are no aftermarket stocks made for this model yet. Its kind of a bummer but the stock it comes with isnt terrible, it shoulders well, but the foreend is pretty flimsy. For the price, I get it, but thats my only gripe. Action is like butter and the over all feel is very light and handy.

I have built several 308 bolt guns but i wanted this one to leave stock to hunt with but i have to say you are wasting your money on this.I had to modify a scope rail to get this gun on paper because the barrel or reciever was not machined true and after working up a load the best groups i could achieve were 2 moa the stock is terrible and boyds does not offer a stock for this gun the magazine is also really bad the metal is so thin i no it will not last long and it will fall out dont make my mistake buy a ruger american instead it is twice the gun this is and its cheaper
