• Q: I’m thinking about buying this Stevens 20 ga. Single and am wondering if this is a better choice or a Revelation 350 series model K 20 ga.for $150. I’m wondering what the receiver on the Stevens is made from, also

  Frank, the receiver on the Stevens 301 is carbon steel. Both being around the same price, I think it's a coin flip between the two. Have a great day!

• Q: I see the Stevens 301 compact has a shorter barrel but is the stock full size or is this a youth model ? Also, will the 4 inch shorter barrel make a significant difference in range and pattern?

  its a full size stock at shotgun ranges the shorter barrel will not affect pattern or velocity Shotguns use faster burning powders than most rifles so the velocity difference is very small. what will be affected is the balance and the "swing" of the shotgun for shooting fast moving targets. this gun will be easy to start the swing but harder to have a good follow through with

• Q: Do these use a proprietary choke tube, or does one from one of the "big" MFG's (like Remington, Mossberg, etc.) work in these? Any idea? And if not, where would one obtain other tubes in different chokes? Thanks!

  Kenneth this shotgun comes with a Removable Modified Choke and is Winchester WinChoke Compatible.
