Con- Received with incorrect stock and forearm. This model should come with the Soft Touch option, instead it arrived with a slick finished version. Pro- Dissembled, cleaned and lubricated prior to firing. Ran 2 boxes of high brass followed by 200 rounds of Rio target loads with ZERO issues. My 12 year old loves it!

So far I have only put a few rounds thru it. It doesn’t like light loads as I expected. I will continue to lube it and run heavier loads thru. Seems decent so far for the price point.

Received the Tristar Viper G2 quite quickly and in good condition. Picked up at a near FFL. Transaction from order to pickup was seamless. Shotgun appears to be decent quality for the price, and shoots well.

Tristar makes great guns. This is a nice looking gun with the red receiver. The stock holds up well and is easy to grip because of the rubber surface. It cycles great. Nice features for a junior shooter or even myself, someone shorter to have a gun that fits well without any modifications to the stock. If you are looking for a semi auto 20 gauge that won't break the bank or to drag thru the field, this is it!

Bought this for my 11 year old son as his first shotgun (he has been shooting pellet gun and .22LR as well as airsoft). For the first couple days we just assembled/disassembled and practiced with the action and it noticeably got loser. Per tristar, I then shot a few rounds of 3" magnum loads at the range and then he preceded to shoot 55 rounds of winchester AA target loads (2 3/4, 7/8oz, 1200fps) with no issues. We will be shooting again in a couple days just after the new year.
At the gun range we weighed the gun with the local pros and it was 6 1/4 pounds without loads. They knew some of the negative history but watched us shoot and then handled the gun themselves and were impressed with its weight and balance. Comes with 3 chokes, a 28" barrel and a 12.5" stock that can be replaced once he grows.
My son doesnt want to hunt (yet) but loves target and clay so this made sense for us in our price range. And, he loves the red color. Went to the website to look at the other options and told me red was the right choice. BTW, the only youth viper G2 with 28" barrel is red so that in reality was our only choice (the other color options were all 26" barrel).

A bit slower than I like on shipping from Buds.. No shooting on reviews yet, but I'm highly impressed with the build of this shotgun, excellent fit and finish, great lines resemble a Winchester, soft and sticky gripped stock and forearm, high polish metals and blue , over sized bolt release ..Also a true youth gun with a short length of pull and lightweight ..The only thing I see as a negative on this gun is the plastic trigger guard...If guns can be sexy , this little red receiver shotgun definitely is..

As always Buds shipped this gun very fast to my FFL dealer. I had purchased this shotgun for my eldest grand son. After I received it I decided to keep it for myself. I have a hard time now (at 70) with the weight of several of my shotguns. This one comes up great carries easily and Shoots like my best guns. I shall order several for my 3 grandsons.

I purchased this youth model Tristar for my Daughter. She is 16 yrs, 5'6" and 100 lbs. She absolutely loved the look and feel of this gun. The length of pull at 12.5", I thought was slightly too short but she loved it. She liked the ease of operation, the light weight (6.2lbs) and light recoil. The owners manual said to first shoot a box of magnum through the gun to "break it in". She is just starting to shoot on her High School Trap Team and didn't have the opportunity to go somewhere else to first shoot the magnums. The gun cycled the target loads just fine. The oversize button for closing the bolt was very handy and user friendly.This was a very good gun for her first experience on a shooting team.
