This Winchester 308 150 Grain Ballistic Silvertip has become my favorite load in 308. Comparing this load to 168 Grain BTHP Match ammo, the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip is just as accurate if not more consistent than with using 168 Grain BTHP Match ammo. This 150 Grain Ballistic Silvertip ammunition has mild recoil out of a Remington 700 5R Milspec 24 inch barrel. The twist rate on this Remington 700 5R model barrel is 1 - 11 1/25 inch, and I'm averaging 1/4 - 1/2 inch MOA 3 shot groups at 100 yards. The nickel plated shell case provides more corrosion resistance and does make feeding more smooth. For those who would like to use this 150 Grain Ballistic Silvertip round for hunting, deer to black bear sized game would be fine. Winchester utilizes a carburized process to apply the Lubalox coating onto this bullet to reduce barrel fouling. When it comes time to clean the barrel, this Lubalox coating will enable you to clean easier and much faster than compared to just plain bare copper bullets.
