Purchased this load for a friend and I to try. It's the exact same load and company as the old Centurian Buck and Ball load. Looked like better crimps then the older load by a different name but all the other insides are the same stuff. Buck and Ball is Lead soft with maybe low % of antimony but the load throws a darn fine pattern with the 6 #1 Buckshot out to 25 yards and usually always puts at least 3 of the 6 #1 Buckshot on target out to 30 yards range. The ball is accurate as any Pumpkin Ball can be in a smooth bore shotgun. Those looking for a compromise to 2 types of shotgun ammo can get great results from this load being that the ball is heavy and acts like a slug and the #1 Buck is additional hit insurance at longer ranges if one misses the target. Great Bear Defense load and I would not hesitate to use this against a Polar Bear if I needed to or had to use a shotgun in that role. I would put money on it that the Ball would penetrate into the vitals of any north American game animal at 50 yards range and that within 25 yards the #1 Buck would make it to the vitals on most all North American game animals with exception to the larger Bears and Moose and things of that size.
