Service from Bud's was excellent as always. Product arrived quickly and was packaged very well. On opening, I was impressed with the fit and finish and particularly the wood on this individual selection. The "wood lottery" is always chancy, particularly with mail order. In this instance, I am well pleased. Rifle came with rings and sling swivels; I was not expecting that. Also, the obligatory lock was included. Have not fired the piece as yet. Hopefully, it will shoot as well as it looks. I didn't shop the price at all, but historically, Bud's has been competitive for me. In this case, they had what I wanted for a price I was willing to pay.

This rifle leaves me spellbound. Before I opened the box at my dealer to inspect the gun before the paperwork, I expected one of the many varied good, but ordinary walnut stocks. I discovered instead a deeply tiger striped, dark, glowing walnut stock, that was in all regards worthy of a Winchester Model 70 Super Grade. With the supplied factory mounts, I mounted an old Nikon Buckmaster 4-14x40 scope on it, and went to the range with a small 20 round incremental test series of rounds that I made with H-322 and Sierra 50 grain Blitzkings. This rifle is factory certified to deliver MOA 3-shot groups, though I expected more from the venerable Triple Deuce. Each charge increment was two-tenths, in proportion to the case size. The groups were as follows, in order: .500", .174", .430", .600", .395. I then fired a composite group consisting of one shot each from the five loads that measured .600". These were measured charges from an RCBS Uniflow, not a weighed sequence. MOA indeed! That .174" may be the smallest group I have ever fired from a sporter rifle, and I have certainly never fired a rifle that averaged such an astonishing average of groups through such a wide range! (take note, you fussy powder weigh-ers) These twenty shots were all fired within a comfortable span of about 30 minutes, allowing mirage from barrel heat to dissipate on a cool winter afternoon. Nice product, and certainly nice service from Bud's. The rifle arrived beautifully packaged for safe transport. My highest recommendation for both gun and Bud's, for having this rare but venerable old caliber in their lineup!

The rifle came in perfect condition and in a decent time frame
