This is my third Kimber. My first two were flawless both in function and finish. This third one not so much. The finish and workmanship are perfect. Visually the pistol is quite lovely. I couldn't be happier. But, it has some mechanical problems. It randomly throws hot brass back in my face. It ejects them with enough force to hurt. Hollow points won't feed reliably. I've used six major brands and none seem to be better than others. I'm experiencing "Lite Strikes", I thought I had bad ammo but upon inspection the primers had very slight dimples, not enough to fire the round. Again, I am using name brand defensive ammo. The magazine randomly falls out during recoil. I shoot both left and right handed. I thought I might be inadvertently depressing the mag release using my left hand. I've ruled that out. The pistol came with one 7 round magazine. I can only load 6, the 7th round sticks up and locks the magazine. The slide just wont close. it just hits that 7th round and stops. I can't even force the slide. I have ambidextrous safety's, they feel mushy, They just kind of slide down without much effort. There's is no satisfying click on disengagement. I would have expected some of these issues from a no name discount firearm. Not all of these, and Not from Kimber.

Very nice pistol. Good size for pocket carry with the right holster. It is also very accurate for it's size,as accurate as my Ultra size Kimbers. All in all I am very happy with it, small size, 9mm, accurate and good looking. I had a Stainless Raptor Micro 9 a while back and it was just as good though I like the looks of the CDP a little better, it is more subtle, not as flashy. Looking for a pocket 9 you couldn't do much better.

Second Kimber I've purchased and am very pleased with my new Micro 9 CDP. I found the initial take down procedure different than the common 1911 and the manual was confusing. Went online and after watching a video two times on take down procedures, I was able to disassemble my Micro 9 to clean and lube it. Only had one range session with my new pistol so far and it digested 100 rounds of my hand loads consisting of round nose 124 gr lead bullets w/o any failures whatsoever. Will have another range session early next week with a box of Speer Gold Dots that is my everyday carry ammo. Report to follow. After my first outing, I can definitely recommend this Kimber Micro 9 CDP
