This is my first Sig. Here are my first impressions (I haven't fired it yet, but I'm confident it will work well since it is the LE model of the higher-end Legion line). Finely machined... Everything looks and fits perfectly. Barrel to slide fit is tight, slide-to-frame fit is nice with no play. Frame rails extend the entire length of the frame, for a sturdy connection with slide. Just a finely made machine... It's very easy to take down (almost as easy as a Glock). Some people say the Legion series is overpriced, but for what you get...? Another way to look at: it's sort of like a Staccato for half the price. Steel slide and barrel, aluminum frame for less weight. I specifically chose the LE version because of the black nitron finish (same finish as other Sigs). I like the look of the green-gray Legions, but the PVD and cerakote coatings don't seem to be very durable. I was more concerned about durability. Some other aspects of the LE model: the slide is already cut for optics and has night sights. It has a short reset trigger that is really nice. The grip is blocky, sort of like a Glock 19 except it fits the hand better (note that this LE model just has black grips without the little Legion medallions). Usually I prefer slimmer grips but these are ok (they have an interesting really grippy texture that doesn't cut into the hand). I like that it has a decocker rather than a safety. It comes with 3 steel magazines, which is great. The listing for this pistol and the questions and answers were confusing. So here is what you get with this Sig P229 Legion LE, WE29R9LEGIONLE: Black Nitron finish (not the gray/green of the other Legions), black plastic grips with no Legion symbol, optics-ready slide with night sights, short-reset trigger, decocker (no safety), and 3 steel magazines. I read that there were Legion-specific plastic cases and other stuff at some point, but I didn't get (or care about) any of that. It came in a normal (but sturdy) plastic Sig case. This is a really nice pistol... I'm glad Bud's has the LE model available. It may not be as distinctive looking as the other Legions, but it has some nice refinements and features that I preferred over the normal version.
