After working on the trigger.. this $500 1911 shoots like $3000 1911.. couple of hiccups on the first 150 rounds (failure to feed) after that.. it takes everything you feed it..factory loads or handloads 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 very happy with the purchase

I don't normally write a review as i find them to be more subjective than factual but you can take it for what it is worth. Let me first say Buds service was as expected, prompt and fast in regards to getting my firearm out and to my FFL. With more than 20 purchases from them over the years they never disappoint, so thank you Buds. Now to the Girsan. The Firearm seems to be quality enough as far as the materials used goes. Although i have not fired it yet the trigger is much heavier out of the box than the other 7 1911's I own. It may or may not lighten after break in but definitely not crisp as what i would expect in this platform. A trigger change may be in order in the future. This next part is on me as i thought the accents were more of a silver in the picture, but i see now it says TTDE at the end of the description. I am assuming that this means Two Tone Dark Earth. That being said the Dark Earth accents have more of a yellowish tone to them than Dark Earth and the cerakote is a bit subpar in its own right. Granted this is not one of my Kimbers or Magnum Research 1911's but i do have two Rock Islands that are within this price point and are much better as far as their cerakote finish goes. And yes this falls in that subjective category but just wanted to make others out there aware. Now to the part i do not really understand. This firearm does have a compensator "ish" device on the end of the slide. It appears to be a separate piece attached to the slide but is not attached to the end of the barrel as you would expect a true compensator to be as it slides with the entire slide when racked back. I guess what i do not understand is why not provide a full slide and barrel that is truly compensated if that is EEA's intentions. it is a bit misleading to me as this is more of a commander sized model with an extra piece on the end giving the appearance of a full sized firearm that is compensated. Why not just make it full size and port the barrel and slide. I will have to see if this makes any difference in performance when firing. Personally i am not one for appearances but one for functionality so i guess will see, again subjective. So far i am a bit disappointed with this purchase just based on it out of the box. Hopefully the range will paint a different picture and impression on me than what is current.
