Ruger Mark IV 22/45 22LR Limited Edition Purple Anodizied, Riton Red Dot - Purple, 4.4" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Polymer Grips, Optics Included Sights

I got this gun specifically as a range fun firearm, so I could purchase .22 for the range since it's cheap. While I was hesitant to get something at this price just for a fun gun, this little baby honestly grew on me so fast that I like it more than like half of my other guns. So let me start by saying this was my sixth gun purchase, second Ruger. This and one other gun are the only two guns in my small collection to never have a jam or misfeed, and wouldn't you know it, the other gun that hasn't had issues is the other Ruger, so they're really growing on me in terms of reliability and dependability. Just about at that level of functionality is aesthetic. The color is a pretty shade that I feel the picture really doesn't do justice, it's much more gorgeous in person. The grip will feel familiar to fans of the 1911 which is notorious for being one of the most universally comfortable handguns, and it's pretty light as well. This may pack more recoil if it shot a higher caliber, but since it's .22 the weight isn't a bad thing, and in fact I'd say it's a good thing since the light weight and light kick really compliment one another for nimble shooting and handling. It would be a great starter for learning to shoot for new shooters (if only I knew that five guns ago, huh? lol), as it not only touts the other stuff, the .22 ammo won't intimidate too much. I hadn't even noticed when I was purchasing, as it was not what I was looking for when I was doing so since it was just supposed to be a recreational handgun, but it also comes with a threaded barrel, so now I know to get the appropriate attachment now. The sight that it comes with (a very nice high end red dot that does NOT feel cheap at all, but be wary; it does not come with backup iron sights or anything, you will have to rely solely on the red dot) feels great and compliments the rest of the package well. One of my absolute favorite features of it is how easy it is to takedown. You press a button and, with no tools, you can separate the grip, barrel, and receiver within one second. If there ever were an issue, it will not be able to escape the operator for long, even in action! The release and safety are intuitive and functional, the magazines are fantastic, the cool factor for the firearm overall is through the roof, and Bud's has fantastic service as always. An absolute pleasure of an addition to the growing collection.
