This is my second or third LCP Max. Sadly, I keep selling them thinking there's something better out there. In my estimation (and mine only), there is not. Things I like about this iteration: 1. it comes with 2 mags, which you're going to end up purchasing anyway. 2. The nitride coating is a MUST. Without it, these things rust! 3. At least for me, the sights seem to be spot on; other versions I've gotten, not so much. 4. It does not slide-bite me. I won't name names, but other recent micro compact .380s that are highly touted on YouTube and such have such a low bore axis that they slide-bite me like crazy, making them very unpleasant to shoot despite reviewers raving about them. 4. Will shoot ANYTHING you feed it. This is the least ammo picky gun I've owned. Things I don't like: 1. The trigger I'm very meh about. It looks cool, but it's definitely not an improvement over the stock trigger and may hang up a little more than the stock trigger. I love these guns! They easily fit in your pocket. They are lightweight. They are reliable. They are reasonably accurate. They are way less snappy than the original LCP and even the LCP 2. Did I mention they are reliable?

One of the lightest and most compact yet tons of magazine capacity. Excellent carry when looking for minimalist EDC.

Bud's gave me quick service, and so far (150 rounds fired) Ruger Max 380 is working great.

I had gone to my local gun shops in search of this version of the LCP Max, mainly because I had watched videos on doing a trigger upgrade, which I had performed on some of my other pistols, but in looking through the reviews it just seemed too much of a hassle. None of my local shops had this in stock, in fact, no one online had it in stock either. I kept watching and sure enough one showed up at Bud's, for an excellent price. So I ordered from Bud's, shipping was fast to my local FFL, and when I went to pick it up I had paid less for the LCP Max Elite from Bud's than the sticker on a standard LCP Max at my local gun shop, win! On to the pistol itself: I am a pocket-carry guy, I find it the easiest way to carry and I have various options but wanted to add this to my lineup. In the holster (currently using a Vedder pocket locker), loaded, this weighs just about one ounce more than my Seecamp .380 in its holster (Del Fatti PH-3). That gives me the +4 rounds and a little more accuracy for the cost of an ounce, that is pretty good. As a pocket gun, it isn't as small as the Seecamp and you can tell it is in your pocket yourself, but it isn't overbearing like a P938 or P365, though I do pocket carry those as well. Printing isn't too bad. When I ordered it I placed an order for the 13lbs spring upgrade as well, and installed it during its initial cleaning. At the range: The gun performed flawlessly, with no jams, and no misfires. I fed various defensive rounds and various FMJs through it without mishap. My groups were a little tighter than my regular P365, one caveat, I am not a great shot with my P365, nowhere near as accurate as my P938, but I have no doubt I'd be able to stop a threat in self-defense. At the range, I keep everything at 7 yards, which is what I feel is the maximum distance of the pistol. Cleaning: Aside from needing a tool to pull out the take-down pin, the LCP Max Elite takes down and cleans just like any other modern firearm. The spring(s) are not captured, but they do ride the guide rod, which is upgraded in this model, so they do not just spring out during takedown. I haven't noticed any major rub spots yet, but I only have about 300 rounds through it. Overall this is a great pistol and I would highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a lighter, more compact option to carry every day. I feel like this pistol could be a good entry pistol for your average person into everyday carry.
