Wow. What a good flat shooting and accurate gun. I have owned a 300 Weatherby Mag and it is a accurate gun also but it would kick the dog crap out of you on every shot. This one is very pleasant but give you the feel of a mag without all the kick. I had rather shoot it than a 30 06 or 270. A 200 yard bullseye is a breeze. I will keep it forever. A little about Buds gun shop. I was very apprehensive about buying a gun from the internet and from a gun shop that I knew nothing about but could not drive to Kentucky to check it out or pick it up. This was my third order and they have been excellent. I was a little nervous about not receiving my order as quick as I thought I should. I call customer service and the nice gentleman reminded me that it took seven working days to process the order. I waited somewhat calmly and sure enough it happened just like he said. The ordering process is too easy. It makes you want to order more. All three guns were in perfect condition when they arrived at the gun shop I picked to have them shipped to. I have no reservations about ordering from Buds again.

I've owned a few .257 Weatherby caliber rifles and I am very impressed with the round itself. I purchased this rifle for deer season last year. The rifle has a real smooth action and has been very reliable. I was skeptical at first due to this being about half the price of my last .257 but I am very impressed with the reliability, accuracy and attention to detail. The only down side is a little shorter barrel than my last .257 and stock isn't as nice. Overall It is a nice rifle at a nice price. BTW I shot two deer both on the first shot at separate times with the this rifle. Bud's has always been excellent for price and shipping. Waiting for stuff to clear is a little slow but I haven't had any problems with any of the products to date.

Had a very pleasant buying experience for this weapon. Had read several reviews in the negative about Bud's but I will say that I saw nothing that was written. The rifle arrived and the picture doesn't do it justice. Beautiful weapon. Mounted optics on it and after running a brush through the barrel away we went. first 3 shot group was 7/8 inch off a bi-pod. 2nd 3 shot group was a hair over 1/2. could not be more happy. Thanks for the awesome service.

This Weatherby has a real nice action and the overall gun is awesome. Shot a half inch group with it at 100 yards and the recoil is very mild. I am very impressed with this gun. It has great balance and a great feel it is a amazing buy at the price. Thanks Buds I will be back.

I purchased this about 6 weeks ago and have put ~80 rounds through it. The Gun is very well finished. Stainless is tough to machine but Howa does a great job. Action is very smooth right out of the box and machining is very clean. The bore is very smooth and does not copper-foul readily and cleans up quickly with MPro 7 and a brass brushing. I really like the Vanguard S2 triggers. This one came with about 3.5lbs pull that is crisp. Comparing this rifle to my Remington SS 700 it is as good or better a rifle. The extractor on the Vanguard is superior to the Remington's. It's larger and gets a better hold on the rim (albeit no problems ever with the Remington) . Of the 7 handloads I have tried in it so far all but one combination have shot under 1 MOA and several were single hole groups. This was without any additional tuning of bullet seating depth. The injected molded stock is OK. It has a good feel. Most people would be happy with it. I don't trust injection mold plastic stocks though to hold POI. I had a Bell & Carlson Medalist stock waiting on the rifle and changed to it before ever firing the first shot. Bell & Carlson supplies Weatherby with the same stock for the RC Vanguards. So for a little less money and absent the engraved floor plate you can have a RC Vanguard except this one is in Stainless Steel. A Great Rifle all the way around...

What can be said about Weatherby. The Vanguard SS .257mag is nice. Smooth transaction at fair price.
