The FNX™-45 is the result of years of innovative
product development and advanced engineering techniques. Modeled after
the FNP™-45 service pistol introduced in 2007 under the U.S. Joint
Combat Pistol Program, the FNX™-45 is a
double-action/single-action hammer-driven pistol with highly enhanced
ergonomics. Its manual safety/decocking levers, slide stop lever and
magazine release are all fully ambidextrous for ease of operation with
either hand and from any firing position. Both the slide and barrel are
stainless steel. The FNX™-45’s checkered polymer frame
has multiple interchangeable backstraps with lanyard eyelets. A MIL-STD
1913 mounting rail on the underside accepts tactical lights and lasers. Includes (2) 15rd mags.

As a disclaimer, my rating is directed entirely at this pistol, and not Bud's. Bud's has always been the finest online firearms retailer in the world. With that said, I quite disliked this pistol. On paper, it looked really great. A great big .45 boss hog war pistol with a huge capacity. What's not to like? In reality though, I experienced numerous failures in the first 100 rounds, and that is after disassembling, thoroughly cleaning, and lubricating this weapon after I received it. The trigger was just garbage, and the entire experience was terrible. I tried a couple more range visits after more cleaning and fine-tuning, but it remained a jam factory. FN has a great reputation, but I had a very bad experience with this. I may have gotten a lemon, but buyer beware.

It’s really nice to have a gun that can hold 15 rounds of .45acp. I did have some problems with the hammer not wanting to fall when shooting in double action but after sending it to FN they worked it over and it is now functioning flawlessly

Well this FNX-45 is awesome. It is worth the hype. In single action, the trigger is super smooth. Recoil is very manageable. Even though it is a larger gun, it is very manageable. Overall very fun to shoot.

After owning this pistol for a couple of years now, I can confidently say that I'd stake my life on it's performance. As if you'd have to guess, FN always provides a top tier product regarding form, fit and function. I had experienced 2 FTE's with my very first loaded factory mag, cycling Federal 230 gr FMJ Brass case. I chalk this up to me potentially limp-wristing my grip, or a potential break-in hiccup. The .45 ACP Caliber was new to me as a whole at that particular time. I did tighten up my grip thereafter & have not experienced a single failure since! With the pistol having a max potential capacity of 15+1 you'd think this beast to be very unwieldy, right? This is just not the case! Yes, the FNX 45 has a large frame by design, and is heavy w/ 15 rounds loaded, but the ergonomics are quite good for me. Lastly, pony up the extra bucks for factory FNX 45 mags, as I did not have good luck with the aftermarket offerings from the Company who's initials are P.M. & their FNX 45 mag offerings.

Fantastic pistol. Functions flawlessly. First rounds through it were a variety of factory ball ammo, random reloaded semi wad cutters, lead round nose and lead flat nose. No failures of any kind. Grip is large but manageable. Surprisingly the larger back strap gives a better feel even though it adds slightly to the circumference but it rounds out the back of the grip. The smaller back strap gives a more squared off feel. Excellent fit and finish. I am definitely pleased with this purchase.

Great home defense option. Fun at the range and shoots like a 9mm! This baby is on my nightstand equipped with a weapon light for bumps in the night.

Simply put. I love it. It's a big chunk of 15+1 .45 ACP goodness. It's gobbled up all the ammo I've thrown at it so far and I can assure you if it didn't keep up with my reliability standards and GLOCKS I wouldn't own it. Clean it, lube it, if it doesn't work it's gone. Break in, never heard of it. The first 250 rounds were Blazer FMJ. The next 300 were a mixture of quality self defense rounds, Federal HST, Hornady Critical Duty ETC. This was all in one day at the range with no hiccups whatsoever. It comes with 3 15 round magazines which is a bonus. As usual the Buds transaction was flawless. I use the layaway plan exclusively and it's great as well.
