The Weatherby Vanguard S2 Sporter rifle in 308 is a very accurate, well built and really a nice looking rifle. You can have a beautiful and tough rifle to take afield with this Weatherby. Quality blueing and a beautiful and tough finish on a well designed walnut stock sets this rifle apart from others in this price range.

The wood gun stock is absolutely stunning and this is not the deluxe stock. Very beautiful, I am still waiting on my scope, so I have not shot it yet. The last center fire rifles I purchased were Winchester Model 70s and they are great shooters with silky jeweled bolts night and day nicer than the Weatherby/Howa action which is quite disappointing. It almost grinds when I work it - not sure why Weatherby would put their name on this but I guess the math works out. If you are looking for a stunningly beautiful gun, this is it - just don't let anyone touch the bolt as they will laugh at the poor quality. I'm assuming it will meet the sub moa accuracy. I obviously ordered this online and Buds always is a smooth transaction, but had I handled the action of this rifle, I would not have ordered it - Kmart action - borderline embarrassing.

First time I used Buds Gun Shop, I was a little nervous from reading some of the reviews but it was a perfect transaction. Got the product in perfect condition as described and within the time frame that was described. I received a lot of email updates on the progress of my order. I don't need that many but I'm sure some people do, so it didn't bother me. So if you want or need updates, don't worry, you'll get them.

Sighting in the new Weatherby rifle was a breeze and is very accurate. The action is very smooth and precise with very high quality. I am very happy with this firearm and look forward to a lot of good times shooting it. The .308 caliber shoots very well in this gun so I can imagine the other calibers will do equally as well.
