My wife had been carrying my Grandpa's.S&W .32 for the past twenty years. She wanted a .38 and I was concerned about the additional power but went ahead and bought her this pistol for her birthday and she loves it. I am surprised that the recoil is much lighter than I anticipated. She's had no problem controlling it and of course she likes the stainless frame and pink grips.After firing this 642 I liked it so much I ordered myself a model 638. S&W still makes solid handguns and Buds is still the best place to get the best prices on new firearms.

I love my new revolver! It fits my hand perfectly and it’s not heavy, like so many others are. I still need a lot of practice with my shooting, but it’s getting better each time I do it. I would recommend this revolver to anyone, but especially to people that can’t lift and hold much weight. Doing business with Bud’s was very easy. It was also quick.

Bought for the wife...nice pistol, but the trigger locked up while dry firing before it was even taken to the range. Opened the side plate to find the internals bone dry and the hammer rusted up. I guess S&W quality isn't what it used to be... Bud's gets 5 stars, S&W gets 2...

I bought this for my wife to carry. The S&W 38 pistol is compact and hammer less which allows the pistol to be pulled out smoothly without getting caught on something. The gun is easy to shoot with the 5 shoots accompanying with knockdown power. Great gun for a woman
