Well I Bought the Marlin 917 VRX from Bud's online, Or at leaat I thought I bought the 917 VRX what I got actually is a XT-17 VR. They look almost Identical I think the XT-17 VR is about 20$ more than the VRX.. Lets face it I did not buy this rifle for anything except the barreled action and that is good because the stock it comes with is garbage. Thanks to Boyd's custom gun stocks for $129.00 you can slap your barreled action into a "sporting a custom Boyd's gunstock Barracuda or Thumbhole Varmint or Rimfire Hunter or any number of Hardwood Laminate rifle stocks that are way better than anything your rifle manufacturer has!!!! You know this because CZ, SAVAGE ,RUGER all have rifles that come from the factory with a Boyd's Custom Hardwood Laminate Gun stock and these are the very top of the line most expensive models these manufacturers offer. Barracuda stock is on the way . The Barrel is FAT the action is SMOOTH. I am sure that this rifle will shoot the NUTS OFF OF A GNAT I will update review upon exhausting a few hundred rounds thru it , Those GNATS better WATCH OUT OR THEY WILL LOSE THEIR NUTS.!!!

Don't let price fool you, this is a GREAT firearm for a GREAT price. From the bull barrel to the adjustable trigger; i think its a very well put together peice. Plan on having a scope ready to go when you get it!

This 17 is just as accurate and smooth as my $400 thumb hole XT-17. I am sort of embarrassed to have spent double on the same gun in stainless and a sexier stock. Put these away for the grand kids, they will thank you with smiles for years to come.

Picked this up today and could not be happier. The rifle is exactly as described. Good weight. Smooth action. I can't wait to get it to the range. This was my first time buying a firearm online and buds lived up to there reputation. The only thing I would do differently is I would pay with my debit/credit card so that I could recieve my rifle faster the five or so days you wait for ach transfer to clear your bank and buds feels like forever but other than that I look forward to many many more purchases from buds.
