I wanted a classic lever action rifle and decided to go all in with the “gun that won the west”. Its appearance is especially beautiful due to the case hardening, which offers some coloration and of course surface hardness. The rifle chambers very smoothly, shoots fast and accurate. The .357 Magnum caliber is a great choice, offering sufficient punch especially from a rifle while also being available at a reasonable price. Most range ammo sells for about 60c a round but one can get quality bulk ammo for 40c per round online, at the time of this writing in September 2024. The rifle also shoots 38 special ammunition, which is a plus. There is very little recoil as the rifle has a good weight. There are certainly cheaper and lighter lever action rifles out there, but this one is a remake of the original Winchester 1873, and it shows. Awesome piece.

I was on the waiting list for this rifle for four years and it was worth the wait. Fun to shoot and is beautiful to look at. Will enjoy for many years then pass on to my son and grandson.

I received my new Miroku CH Winchester 1873 end of January 2018 in perfect condition. Excellent service from Buds as Always. This rifle is an absolutely beautiful looking firearm. The case hardened receiver and butt plate really set it apart. And it shoots just as good as it looks. It cycles 38spl and 357 magnum cartridges without any hiccups. I was anticipating an action job, but the rifle is so smooth forget about it! Why spend a grand on a uberti and another 300+ to tune it, when you can have a real, brand-new WINCHESTER 1873?

I bought this as a present for myself. I've never been crazy about lever guns but I've always had a soft spot for the 1873 Winchester. This one is an absolutely beautiful gun. It shoots like a dream and I can use .38 Special in it instead of .357 Magnum. This gun is a joy to shoot and so far I've had no problems with it. It was pricey but what isn't now days? The Uberti is almost the same price and you know which one will be worth more money down the road. I highly recommend this rifle!

Great firearm for any collection. Classic gun that won the west. This particular one I received from Bud's is a fine work of art. Shoots straight, and has no problem with .357 or .38 special. I must say Miroku of Japan does an excellent job with fit & finish. The stock is of fine quality, and the color case hardening makes it stick out. I would 10/10 buy this again. I may even start saving for one in 24" and with an octagonal barrel. I may be biased because I love Winchester, but it puts my Marlin 336 to shame. Thank you Buds for delivering to me the rifle I've wanted for 3 years!

I received my new 1873 Winchester Short Rifle yesterday. I checked it over and it is very nice. Every thing I expected. Took it out and fired 5 rounds, and it worked perfect. Smooth operating from start to finish. Will fire it more as soon as I get a chance. so far-so good. Thanks Buds.
