Great gun I'd purchase again

Horrible build quality. Recoil assembly guide rods sheered off at around 200 rds. Also, the bolt get stuck to the rear making it impossible to cycle a magazine without fixing several malfunctions. Contact IO and they said it can be fixed by chamfering the bolt carrier. Horrible design/engineering flaw. I don’t understand how they didn’t catch the flaw when they pilot tested the gun’s design.

VERY BAD CHOICE. This was my fault for not doing more research before making this purchase. I received my new purchase In September 2018. The equipment was defective out of the box. The magazine would not seat and the pieces did not fit together properly. I sent the gun in for repair in December 2018. While it was easy to register at the IO inc website and ship it in for repair I still have not heard back from the company about when or if they will repair it. I did email IO regarding the status of repair and was emailed in return that they had not started working on them yet and would not until their new model was completed. On their website now shows the new model is on hold. "We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to our AK line not currently in production ALL AK RMA’s ARE ON HOLD" This is a huge disappointment because I thought buying a product made in the USA was the way to go. I did ask for either my money back or a replacement device instead of the broken gun they still have. IO said they would ship the old gun back to me not repaired and unusable. I will use Bud's guns again in the future as all of my interactions with the company have been positive. I would NEVER buy anything every again from IO. Shame on me for not doing more research.

Original impression of this rifle was good. Looked nice, finish was spot on, came with two mags, looked pretty sweet with the side mount I got for my red dot. Then the range time came. Worst functioning weapon I've ever purchased. Apparently IO came out with a new plastic "buffer" for the recoil. The rifle will not function without it. Sure it'll fire, but your BCG will get stuck back after every found. The BCG gets popped out of the rear rail after every shot. Mine did not come with one. Therefore making it a true bolt action, you have to pull the charging handle back after EVERY ROUND once it pops out. I'll never buy an IO again. Sure it looks nice, but that's about it.

This is my first AK. I'm am AR kind of guy. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit hesitant to buy the IO. Once I received it and and put a few rounds through it I knew I had made a good decision. Fit and finish is fine. But, the magazines that come with the rifle went into the trash. I could not get them to feed. I bought two Pro Mags and life is good.

I have never have owned a gun with a stamped receiver this was my first, i my self would not recommend one. I have 19 fire arms and never had any problems. The AK 47 IO brand that i purchased had 300 to400 rounds shot through it and the gun failed. buds guns sent back to manufacturer, I am glad they are helping me to resolve the problem. As fore buds guns I fill they are doing ever thing they can to help resolve the the situation !!

Very smooth AK47, and well priced also. Came with a broken spring assembly but IO has great customer service and sent another in the mail as soon as I let them know, arrived in less than a week- free of charge. It now runs perfectly.

For the price, this gun is awesome!!! It's my 3rd 7.62x39 rifle and I noticed that it got too hot to hold after 3, 30 rounds mag's had been run through it... Nothing a cheap forward grip didn't fix though.. All in all, I'd buy this guy 10 times over!!!!

Solid firearm, IO has really turned their products around. Gun comes with two different pistol grips, one amazing, one just a piece of plastic. Comes with an all plastic see through magazine, it's sturdy, but I'd rather it not be see through. Very accurate gun.

I must say after all of the negative reviews I have seen online I was downright nervous after ordering this rifle. Out of the box this thing was flawless. I took it home, cleaned it, and then headed to the range. I put 300 rounds through it over the weekend without a single jam. The reason for 4 stars is the fact that the gun will jam if you remove the recoil buffer. It is a known design flaw, but has yet to be addressed by IO. I have seen that using a surplus bolt carrier will remove this issue as it will no longer jump the track. If you are looking for a USA made AK47, I would highly recommend this, especially since it comes with a quad rail.
