The Ruger American Ranch rifle is a compact, easy handling and highly accurate bolt action rifle. The rifle is sized perfectly for carry and easy access in a pickup truck or other farm vehicle. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, it is also capable of firing .223 Remington and is an excellent choice for predator and varmint control. It features a threaded 16.12" cold hammer forged barrel with factory installed thread protector, ready for your suppressor or other muzzle device of choice. The tough, ergonomic synthetic stock has grip serrations for sure control.

I would buy this gun again and again perfect truck gun and very accurate. I just throw it around and abuse it no problem what so ever .

I have a Mini-14 in 5.56 and I wanted another rifle in 5.56 for redundancy. So I got this. It's nice. It has a nice heft to it, though it isn't a huge gun in terms of length. The pic rail took my Primary Arms Prism Scope well and was easy to sight in and shoot with. The action on the bolt is smooth, the controls are simple, and the trigger out of the box is very nice. My only real complaint with the rifle is that the mags are not the easiest to load. With brass it's not too bad, but with steel-cased ammo (which is what I primarily shoot out of my Mini-14) it's like nails on chalkboard getting them in there. I can definitely see why Ruger made later versions of this rifle with more conventional magazines. It's not horrible it's just not great but for what I got this gun for it's not that big of a deal. The bottom line is that it can shoot my steel-cased .223 and that's all I care about it. Well, that and the muzzle blast out of this thing with no muzzle device on the end is pretty awesome.

After receiving rifle took apart and cleaned.Found scope rail screws were left loose.Not a problem as I would have removed cleaned out threads and applied loctite anyway.Mounted scope and headed to range frontier 223 55fmj was 21/2 inch group.Was getting worried then fired 5shot group of frontier 5.56 75 grain hpbt match ammo.This was a 3/4 inch group at 100 yards.Velocity on the 75 was about 2575 10 yards from muzzle.Very happy with rifle.I love ruger.

Mine arrived in perfect condition. Feed and function are good. The bore is very smooth and cleaned up easily after I "broke it in" with 100 various rounds. Accuracy is easily MOA with decent ammo. A real surprise is how well it shoots reduced loads. Unique or Trail Boss loads at about 1600-1800fps are perfect for indoor ranges. They're quiet, accurate and huge fun. I've had a few people take an interest in it at indoor and outdoor ranges. The only minor negative is the magazine. It's a little harder to load than some and max 2.26" OAL cartridges fit with no room to spare. This rifle is a good value and I'm waiting for Bud's to get in the 300 Blackout version!

Although I haven't fired this firearm yet, I am pleased with the look, feel and balance of the rifle. Plan to shoot it pretty soon. The purchase was seamless from Buds. Always great service. Thanks to all involved.

I am very impressed with this rifle. The trigger is amazing out of the box, light and crisp with virtually no overtravel, but can be adjusted even lighter if you prefer. The first thing I noticed about this rifle is just how compact and light it is. Even though it is extremely light, it feels solid and sturdy like other Rugers I have owned. It is truly surprising in that regard. Even when outfitted with a scope and bipod, it is very quick handling. The barrel was truly free floated with no issues. The bolt action is smooth, but is somewhat more noisy than expected. The tang safety is very positive and will feel familiar to those who own a Mossberg 500 shotgun. The FDE stock is slightly darker than pictured on the Bud's website, which I actually prefer. To top it all off, the barrel is threaded for any standard AR-type muzzle device or suppressor of your choice. Overall, this is a very cool alternative bolt gun that could serve many purposes for all types of shooters.
