I have wanted for several years an AR-10 chambered for 30-06. The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 30-06 Springfield is that rifle. The trigger is lighter and crisper than I've expected. I'm very pleased with this AR-10 rifle. I’m going to put on a scope and silencer and see how it performs with the AP ammo I have. Even though the magazines are expensive, this AR-10 was worth waiting on.

I haven't fired it yet but I'm pleased with the look and construction. Right now it's 3 stars until I fire it and I'll follow up with another review.

I waited several years for an AR-10 chambered for 30-06 at the $1,000 price point. The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 30-06 Springfield met my purchase criteria. Unboxing report: The quality of the fabrication and assembly is excellent. Calculated bullet stability was 2.01 (optimized). Range report: The gas-operated action and the 9.25 lb. rifle weight + 1.82 lb. scope weight easily absorbed the recoil of 168-grain cartridges, and it was comfortable to shoot. The trigger was lighter and crisper than I've experienced with mil-spec AR-10 triggers. The combination of a light trigger, tame recoil, and heavy 24" long barrel resulted in a 5/8" x 3-shot group at 100 yards (see photo). Overall: I'm very pleased with this rifle. Next step: Deer hunt in West Texas on Veterans' Day weekend.
