Received yesterday and this Marlin has a fantastic walnut wood with great grain lines and a great oiled wood finish with a very nice checkering. Fit and finish on the money and it shoots great after 200 rounds. Just a little on the lever stiff side but working out the more you shoot. Bud's got it to me in 2 days after purchase at a great price. If your looking for a very well made and looking 357 lever action this Marling made by Ruger is the way to go :)

I waited for years to purchase one of these but now am so glad I did. This is a Ruger made Marlin and it is done up right. Action was smooth out of the box and accuracy is impressive. Installed Skinner sights. I have been able to ring 12 inch steel consistently at 200 yards the last two times out. (Which is pretty good for my eyes) Bud's was great to work with. I am very happy with both the rifle and the service from Bud's

My first Marlin and first handgun caliber in a lever action. Bud’s did a great job as always, shipping was rather bizarre as it arrived two months after shipping. Thanks to Bud’s for the trace and getting it moving again across a tour of many areas normal shipments from Bud’s haven’t gone through. Cleaned the gun and then to the range. Using the as built open sights and off hand I shot five shot strings of two different 357 mag. ammo. Consistent groupings of 1” with ammo A and 3/4” ammo B at 100 yards made me smile. I’m certain adding a scope and on the bench groups would tighten up some. Bottom line is I’m more than pleased, especially after fifty consecutive hits on a 6” plate at a hundred. Action smoothed out very quickly, trigger is fine for a hunting rifle. I’m thinking about another Marlin now in 45LC, we will see. I would love to see Ruger bring back the 444 Marlin, never owned one but shot a friends years ago.

I bought this rifle recently because I like lever action guns. It’s been so much fun. My wife live to shoot it so much that I may need to buy another one for myself. Smooth action. Great service from Buds

I found Buds during the Covid shutdown as I usually shopped locally in the KC area. I have ordered four firearms (3 handguns and 1 rifle + ammo) and I have to say the experience has been phenomenal. Buds had in stock what I was looking for. Processing my order was no problem, smooth and their shipping group is nothing short of A+++. Shipped without issue and obviously being nervous that my gun might arrive damaged...Bud's efforts to make sure that didn't happen...A+++ once again. I am not a die-hard shooter, just a guy and his wife living in rural Kansas who enjoys our country's 2nd amendment. We love Bud's and they will always be our go to for future purchases.

Love this firearm...best purchase in years...brings back the fun of range shooting...the silky-smooth lever action, light weight, and superior accuracy are what make it a proven winner right out of the box...highly recommended.

BEHOLD! Marlin has risen! Been waiting a long time for this opportunity. I bought it, sight unseen, as Bud's did not post a picture of the rifle, but I know what a 1894 Marlin .357 magnum looks like. And I know that Ruger bought Marlin and I had 100% confidence they could produce quality Marlin rifles like nobody else. I have this same Marlin 1894 rifle that Remington made and I bought in 2012 that is so poorly put together and dinged up it looked used when I opened the box - one star. They deserved to go bankrupt. But here comes Bud's and Ruger! Five days from clicking "order" to FFL calling me, including the weekend. This rifle is the nicest Marlin I have ever held or fired. It's almost too pretty. Slapped 4 cartridges in the tube and fired from 30 yards. 3 hit the orange bullseye and 1 was a couple inches high and right. The flyer was me due to 1894 prisoner-of-love ecstasy. Replaced that silly hooded sight with a Skinner front sight, removed that buckhorn and installed a slot blank, then installed a Skinner Peep on the receiver. The rifle has sling mounts, dark walnut stocks and a fairly smooth action. Tolerances are very tight on this rifle, which is a good thing all lever guns loosen up with use. These are hard to find. Don't hesitate to buy if you see one.

When I saw that Bud's had this gun in stock I jumped on it! I had been looking for a Marlin 1894C for some time. It was perfect! I just wished I had bought more of them. Bud's has good prices, good inventory, and quick delivery. I recommend using Buds for all new gun purchases. Just have them send your gun to your local gun shop (FFL) and you'll get just what you want at a great price. By the way, the Marlin is a great shooter!

Just a beautiful rifle. It is a dream to shoot. Easy load and light enough to carry for those lengthy hunting days without tiring out. By far the best purchase I have ever made. It is a gun every small game/ varmint hunter should own.

Great service from Buds as usual. This Marlin 1894C is great, wood is quite lovely, action smooth and feeding ammo not an issue. I have semi wad cutters loaded up for my pistol and was concerned that there would be hang ups in feeding but no issue what so ever. Very pleased and would recommend this rifle.

Received the Marlin 1894c 357 magnum 18 inch barrel, walnut stock 9+1, lever rifle. Cleaned the bore for oil or residue and wiped off any access oil as needed. The rifle looked nice, right out of the box. Fit of stock to metal was slightly off, but was within my personal tolerances, and I think it is a beautiful gun. I took it to the range and shot Federal 158 grain truncated soft tips in .357. Accuracy at 40 yds, with the iron sights was good (with the shooter over 80 yrs. old, but with 20/20 vision). Then I shot Remington 38 specials with flat tipped fmj. This was not quite as accurate but still acceptable. I loved the short-action lever, the balance of the rifle, and the very slight recoil. Out of the 50 rounds that I put through it, there were no glitches, Just a smooth lever action and great feeding. My hat is off to Remington for keeping this Marlin alive.

Fun to shoot and reasonably accurate especially when shooting 38 special. Fit and finish were excellent and it's a great looking rifle. However, after about 400 rounds I experienced the "dreaded Marlin jam". I never knew this condition existed until the lever jammed open and I started researching on line about it. Apparently it's fairly common with Marlin lever guns and has been that way for years. It involves the lever wearing what looks like a groove in the carrier. The carrier is the piece that brings the cartridge from the magazine up to the barrel when the lever is worked. When the groove gets bad enough the lever locks up and the only way to unjam the rifle is to take the lever and bolt out. The fix is to install a new carrier which is just like the old one and will probably wear just the same. For me this makes the rifle unreliable in a hunting or even self defense situation. This gun will now occupy a dark corner in the far back reaches of my gun safe and I will not buy another Marlin product.

This rifle is one fine looking beauty! Not a scratch or blemish on the wood or metal. I did put two coats of Minwax Wipe-On Poly on the stocks as the finish was pretty flat and I prefer a little shine. The rifle is very easy to disassemble and re-assemble (thanks Youtube!) I put Skinner sights on the rifle and blow soda cans apart at 80 yards, dead on. If you're on the fence about buying one, get off and do it!

I saw some bad reviews about this rifle but the one I received was perfect. It looks like they have fixed there quality control problems.

Bought this Marlin (1894c .357 mag) a few months ago and just got to shoot it. First, let me say that the fit and finish are really nice. Second, what was really noticeable was the lever action. It was very smooth. It was actually smoother than my 1971 JM-stamped Marlin 336. The gun was tough to load. I think that is simply from new springs and should get easier as the gun gets loaded more and more. I did not shoot the gun from a bench and out of a sled yet. I only shot standing up. My targets were bowling pins and Gatorade plastic bottles. At 50 yards I was knocking down pins and twice shooting through the pins (American Eagle 158 grain). Plenty accurate for off hand shooting. I am lefty and shot well. Two of my friends who are right-handed shot and said the gun was shooting to the left. If determined to be the case from shooting paper targets from bench, then the rear sight can be tapped over. But all in all, pleased with this gun. I would not be afraid to purchase another Marlin.
