Not My First 1911. But First In 9mm. I have Ran Several Different Factory Loads Through This Gun. All Ran Flawlessly. Recoil Is Very Mild. Gun Is Very Nice Looking. I Recommend This Ruger 1911.

Wonderful piece of weaponry, accurate, smooth and so far flawless. I have fired factory fmj ammo and reload hollow points without issue. Breakdown is standard 1911. The fit and finish are excellent, wish it had front serrations and was offered with night sights! Very happy with this purchase!

I really like this gun. I’m getting older with hand issues but this gun still works very well for me. Precooking the hammer makes working the slide very easy. Although LW frame, overall weight really mitigates recoil. Classic 1911 grip and controls seem ingrained and makes it a really good shooter. Took it out today with my new Beretta 92fs. I love the da/sa but to be honest, shooting this SAO is so easy peasy, I shot the 1911 considerably better than the Beretta. Still love both. And although I was a Glock fanboy for years, returning to metal guns with hammers seems so right.

my very first 1911, so far no issues but I’ve also not put a significant number of rounds through it yet. This is also my first all metal pistol and I really like this thing, best trigger of all the pistols I have (p320, hellcat, xds mod 2, psa dagger). I did a slide job on it as it was kinda rough feeling. When you take it apart you’ll notice quite a few machining marks on it but for the price I can’t complain, guess they have to cut cost somewhere which is probably why it doesn’t have the only thing I wish it had…a rail and a fiber optic front sight. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

I decided to go with this 1911 after lots of research and am very happy I did! The pistol is super accurate and runs flawlessly. This lightweight version is great! The price from buds was the best around! I Will definitely come back to buds for future purchases.

I wanted a 1911 lightweight CMD in 9mm but when I saw that Ruger offered this one at a much lower price point than the lightweight CMD, I decided I could live with the extra 3/4 inches of barrel length. My FFL received the gun in a very timely manner. I cleaned the gun and took it out to my range, and it functioned perfectly. The wight reduction between this aluminum frame and steel frame is very noticeable and that's a good thing. The gun was shooting very good groups at 12 yards offhand, but about 3 inches or so to the left. I examined the sights and the front sight was pretty far to the right in the dovetail when looking down the sights. The front sight on this particular is very tight in the dovetail, but I finally got it moved closer to center. Now the gun shoots to point of aim and the groups are mostly in a two inch circle at 12 yards, with a couple of shots making the groups open up a bit. The trigger is a tad heavier than I like, but I can eventually get used to it. I like this gun and plan on carrying it around on the farm as a do all pistol. I can't give it 5 stars because of the sight issue, but if it were not for that, it would definitely be a 5 star gun.

Fast delivery. Gun shoots great. No jams with hollow points or fmj.Removed rear sight and added a green dot. Also found a sig sauer 38 super ramped barrel and with very little fitting installed it. Both barrels shoot very accurately.I'm very pleased with the gun!!!

Having owned 16 1911s over the last ~15 years, including a handful over $2k, I've been really impressed by this SR1911. The flood of turkish 1911s had ruined the pricing on all 1911s IMO, which has made it harder to get a "real quality" 1911 that is worth anything on resale. You used to be able to get a great quality steel/stainless 1911 from quality manufacturers from 500-700. Now? Those same ones are nearly double the price, and anything in that same price range has had some cut to manufacturing cost in the name of "lightweight frames" made out of aluminum. I used to be able to buy Sig 1911s for 500-600. Now they are all 1000 . Even a base Kimber is now 600 in its cheapest form. Ruger is no stranger to quality 1911s, as they've hit it out of the park since they first introduced them. This lightweight SR1991 is no exception even though I believe aluminum frames on a 1911 are not as durable for long-term as a traditional steel slide. It's a lot easier to fine machine aluminum stock than it is to machine edges off a stainless, but it needs to be said that this LW SR1911 has a REALLY WELL machined frame! It's SUPER smooth around every single edge that you're able to touch. You're still able to see cut marks on the flat surfaces of the frame, but not actually feel them. I would have liked for those cut marks to have been machined off. I'm not a big fan of the slide finish as it has this somewhat too-coarse of a blasting finish, but every single edge on that is very well machined as well. If there's something I would nit-pick, it's the bushing- it just feels like a cheap 3rd party part that needs to be replaced with a Wilson Combat bushing to match the rest of the gun's quality. With that said, I know this Ruger is something that you will be able to count on. It's not a perfect 1911, but for the current market, it's one of the best deals on a 1911 from a reputable manufacturer. IMO, for the price point of 600-700, the top two variants of a lightweight 1911 in 9mm are currently from Ruger and Kimber. They have the best overall quality for the money.
