It is good gun . I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 45-70 trapper. No reason pay high prices . This is a very good gun

received on a thursday had to send it out for warranty service the next day friday cause the leaver wouldnt shut all the way it was about an inch from closing and when i did get it closed it wouldnt stay locked just the slightest bump and the leaver would fall and open up

This needed a *significant* amount of tuning to fire well. The stock is was not well fitted and loose on both the butt and the barrel. The locking block regularly sticks, and requires jiggling to open the lever. The lifting arm took a lot of smoothing to make it so that it was not incredibly stiff to cycle. After a lot of work it feels reasonably nice, but nothing I would say is fantastic. Overall I am fairly disappointed in the fit and finish of this.
