Excellent gun at a very good price

I took my S&W SD 40 2.0 to the range for the first time and it jammed pretty frequently. The recoil isn't bad and the firepower is great, but the frequent jamming was a big disappointment.

As many others I prefer the 40 cal over the 9mm. The power of the 40 cal is significantly more than the 9mm. This S&W delivers. My wife and I live on remote acreage in East Texas. I usually carry a handgun while out and about our farm. And due to an expanding coyote and feral hog population, the 40 cal fits the bill. I've dropped 2 large feral hogs with a Beretta 40cal. At close range the 40cal is very effective. The SD-40 is accurate, no FTEs or jams of any kind using PPU ammo. With the aforementioned being said, I can recommend this handgun and you can't beat the price.

I love .40 cal, and I love this weapon! Have shot it 200-300 rounds, and it works like a charm! Feels great in the hand, good balance, and good capacity, 14 plus one , for the size of the weapon. And it's also a nice looking weapon, I must say! Oh, and at $300 bucks, it's a no brainier for me! Another shooter in my collection, and my carry rotation!

Great gun, love the new 2.0 version. The SD series has really aggressive texturing, consequently it eats up the 40 S&W recoil really well. It really doesn't shoot any different than the 9mm version. While this is a budget Smith & Wesson pistol, it's a great buy! SS barrel and slide, much improved trigger over previous models. A quality S&W for an affordable price. It comes in 9mm or 40 S&W and while it comes with just one magazine, they are available. They are about the size of a Glock 19. They are good guns at a very good price.

Great gun but needed to be sent back to S&W for a bad chamber. Still waiting for it's return.(12-04-24).
