Kimber's quality control has degraded, as has its customer service. After getting the weapon, I tried to field strip it. Soaking in lubricant for 45 minutes and beating the barrel bushing with a hammer and punch for another 45 minutes was needed to free the barrel bushing from the slide. Also, the slide lock took considerable effort to remove. Both pieces had to be polished with an Emory cloth. Finally, their finish now is oily and unattractive. They've gone cheap. Calling customer service at Kimber was a joke. No apology, only an offer for me to ship the pistol to them for "inspection" with no promise of a quick turn around. I've owned over a dozen Kimbers, but never again.

I ordered this once before but had to cancel it. When the time was right I ordered it again. As far as 1911's go, my only experience with them was the old Colts when I was in the Marines in the 80's. If you're familiar with them, you know they are not without their issues. BIG difference to go from one of those to one of these. This Kimber is a beaut. I like the appearance, balance, action, and trigger. I have a good number of handguns, but this was my first .45 (I have since bought a Glock to go along with it). Glad I kept this one.

Kimber is a top shelf firearm. Especially the 1911 (the greatest pistol platform ever). This pistol is highly accurate and smooth as silk to shoot.

This is a great bundle and a great gun. What's most impressive to me is the weight of the firearm. It's the lightest 1911 I own which makes it easy to carry and easy to shoot. I shopped the price and Buds was the best price...it was shipped fast to my local FFL and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

This is my 3rd Kimber, my first 1911. It's a very well built pistol. If you've served in the military around when I did, you shot the Colt .45 1911. You also know it didn't always hit where you aimed it, and it would make some noise if you shook it. This Kimber is well built and solid. It's got a slightly stiff trigger, but it's stays smooth and steady throughout the action. Based on my experience, I believe the stiffness will work itself out with use. It's not fancy, with special hand grips, or chromed out and engraved, but I didn't want that. I wanted something simple and reliable, that will do what I want when I need it to. This is that gun.

Process to buy was so easy and quick. I have owned different 1911s and this lightweight Kimber 1911 has impressed me so far. The looks, feel, and actions are a bonus to 1911s. Right out of the box fired well. I wondered if the lighter weight would add to the kick, it did not. The grip angle and great spring took care of all this. Reassemblly was made easy this tool that came with it. You can still do it manually, but once you use this tool you won't go back to manually take it down or reassemble. Trigger was nice and crisp. I carried a 1911 as a Military Policeman and your could almost imitate a rattle snake shaking those military ones. Not the Kimber, engineered very nicely.
