Great gun. Comfortable to carry and am very happy with this lightweight version. Buds has always been great to buy from. Fast shipping and good prices.

My new favorite daily carry. It fits and shoots in my large hands perfectly!! Trigger is perfect out of the box, Kimber did a great job!!

With the lack of quality control from S&W, and nearly all the others, it was an easy decision to go with the Kimber K6XS. The moment I took it out of the box, I could sees and feel the quality. The trigger is already known in the industry as the best out of the box you can get for this platform. After shooting it, there was no doubt this is the best out of the box snubby on the market and is an easy recommendation….. it’s with the price.

I love the K6XS. It’s small, light, and very well made. Kimber’s quality is fantastic. I love the chamfered cylinder and the use of an Allen bolt on the side plate is genius. No more boogered up screws. My only complaint is the sights. I wish it had sights similar to the K6S or even better yet, the sights on the King Cobra.

Love it! Just received and after a couple trips to the range and 250 rounds I'm hooked. Such a solid fun revolver in a tiny package. Quality and workmanship are excellent. 6 rounds, need I say more? Can't believe how light it is, I love shooting it. Looks like I got the last one as out of stock since I purchased. Highly recommend if you are a fan of quality, tight revolvers. Way to go Kimber and Buds!

Absolutely beautiful and well built. Hickock 45 on YouTube was the final factor. 6 shots vs 5 ... Do it!

Love this thing. Fits my hand like a glove and is smooth as butter. First time ordering from Bud's and is now my go to. Great price and hipped to my FFL really fast. Very pleased overall.

Great quality 6-shot 38 special. Put about 100 rounds through it the first trip to the range. Shoots +P also, though that kind of beats my finger up in the trigger guard. I bought this as a backpacking and camping gun since it's rather lightweight and has a shrouded hammer as well as a 6th shot. I'm in the southeast so no brown bears to worry about, this is more for the possible two legged predators. Kimber really is a sleeper in quality for revolvers and I hope more people start buying them because I want them to make more! Even the shop I did my FFL through commented on how nice of a gun it was.

IMO, this is the best “pocket revolver” on the market, and Buds prices it very fairly. The main reason I chose the K6xs over the S&W 442 UC or the Ruger LCR (both great revolvers for this role) was the K6xs’ six-round, .38 Special capacity. I already own a couple of revolvers that hold at least six rounds and are chambered in .357/.38 Special. I do not feel comfortable carrying less than six rounds, but that’s just me. I gave serious thought to purchasing one of the two other guns mentioned above in .32 H&R Magnum to get the sixth round, but that would have meant stocking up on yet another line of ammunition (I also own a couple of semi-autos, and I’m trying to standardize as much as possible to keep costs down). K6xs Pros: It weighs less than a pound. The bright orange front sight is easy to find, and the fixed notch rear sights line up quickly. I don’t believe in adjustable sights for a “fighting” revolver, especially one that’s going to be carried in a pocket. Factory triggers are one of the best things about Kimber revolvers (to be fair, the same goes for the LCR). My K6xs trigger is a bit on the heavy side (sorry, I don’t have a Lehman scale), but it can be staged easily and safely with just a little practice. I’m assuming the trigger will lighten-up with time and use. Cons: Some reviewers say the factory Hogue grips on the K6xs are a bit more difficult to conceal than those on the LCR or the 442 UC, but I carry the K6xs in a Mika pocket holster with no problem. The Hogue grips cover the backstrap, which is a plus for a light revolver that does not absorb much recoil, and a pocket holster helps break up and minimize the revolver’s print in my front pocket. Snubbies, by their nature, are difficult enough to shoot well without adding a lot of recoil. This is the strongest argument for .32 H&R Magnum, IMO. Ammunition: I find 110-130 grain P ammunition manageable with a proper grip (for me, “manageable”= sufficient control to make quick follow-up shots). That said, my preferred carry rounding the K6xs is a standard-pressure (not P) 150 grain hard-cast full wadcutter from Underwood (Buffalo Bore makes a similar round). It is a hard-hitting load that never fails to penetrate. Another great carry choice (for my tastes) is the 110 grain P Buffalo Barnes solid-copper hollow point, which leaves a 2” barrel at ~1100 fps. The stand pressure-version of this round is a good, lower-recoil recoil choice, with 2” muzzle velocity >950 fps and recoil similar to Hornady’s 110 grain P Critical Defense load.

It’s competitors with the S&W 642 I think. It’s a hair bigger than the 642 but it has a 6 shot cylinder instead of the 642s 5 which is nice. Still small enough to pocket carry with the shrouded hammer. Quality is ok, not as nice as the all steel K6S but it’s a lot lighter and way cheaper. Per usual. Buds price was competitive with the lowest I could find on it so I “Pulled the trigger on it!” (Pun intended 😏) thanx Buds! 👍🏻

Disappointed with this purchase, I wish I had gone with a Smith & Wesson 642. The Kimber seems to lack the Quality Control that I look for. Dirty out of the box, with rough edges on the machining, and worst of all, the cylinder release is completely locked up. I am unable to release the cylinder. Very unfortunate because I wanted to like this gun.

Greetings... My photo shows my Kimber K6S next to the new addition K6XS (Both purchased from Buds) but this review (per policy) is just about the K6XS and the amazing reliable service from Buds. I own other light weight revolvers but I find this Kimber revolver far superior to all others in my collection. The fit and finish is outstanding and so far after about 200 rounds of +P .38sp this has been flawless. I "may" replace the grips to a smaller boot type wood but this revolver has become my new EDC. It is light, well made with a trigger that comes in just under 9 pounds and is butter smooth. The fixed sights are rudimentary but work just fine on this 2" barrel platform. Nothing negative to say. Kimber makes great stuff Made here in America! I have been a Team Buds member for years and have purchased many firearms from Buds over those years but this time; I was blown away. I placed my order on a Sunday and it shipped the next day and was at my FFL ready for pick up just 4 days later. Buds has always been reliable with excellent delivery times but a big hats off this time for the incredible short amount of time from order to delivery. I recommend this moderately priced revolver and I highly recommend Buds with 5 stars all around... Thanks

I'm glad Kimber came out with this 38 Special. I have the big brother 357 Kimber this is lightweight manageable for my spouse to use. I do like the lines on it the weight on it and a fair price happy trails

Firearm was shipped in a timely manner. Thanks, Bud's. The firearm has worked flawlessly. I've got 200 158-grain rounds through it. 150 rounds in a single, nonstop session.

I purchased this gun two weeks ago, and in that short time it has become my new EDC! It is slightly heavier and thicker than both a 642 and LCR but holds an extra round. The recoil is manageable even with plus P, but you don’t want to shoot it all day. I like the sight picture, it is very easy to pick up and much better than both the guns mentioned earlier. The recessed chambers are a nice touch and the fit and finish on my example was excellent. One negative- the stock grips printed for me. I replaced them with the black grips that come on the k6s. (yes they fit) The stock grips ARE A PAIN to remove, so be aware of that before thinking you are going to “switch them out real quick”. I definitely highly recommend this gun to someone looking for a revolver for carry!

I love this Kimber K6XS. I wanted to wait until I put some rounds through it. So far, I’ve fired 500 rounds of reloads and have had no issues. I load them to plus p level. No issues. It shoots dead on out to 25 yards. It’s the perfect carry gun. I’ve switched to semi automatic several years ago but this gun has me going back to my roots!
