My 'hot weather' carry pistol has been - - since 2010 - - the original LCP with a Crimson Trace Laser Guard with the modified trigger and recoil spring kit, and a Hogue rubber grip. I have confidence in that pistol, and in my 'point and shoot' proficiency, and in the the.380 caliber I load it with (Underwood XTreme Defender). When the LCP offered a Max with an external safety, it was time to 'upgrade' to higher capacity and better sights . . . BUT note that in spite of the increased mag capacity the dimension/size difference between the original LCP and LCP Max is insignificant, the Max is still a very concealable pocket pistol. BudsGunShop made the purchase quick, simple and competitively priced, and the pistol was shipped and delivered to my FFL dealer in a timely fashion. (P.S. - of course, a 'five star' for me doesn't mean it will be a five star for you. Do your research and decide accordingly.)

I recently read a review in Gun Test magazine that compared the new S&W 380 pistol against the Ruger LCP Max 380. Gun Test rated S&W higher and a friend of mine had one and liked it so I ordered one. Well, I did not like it. In my opinion the build quality was substandard for the price I paid and it was very difficult to rack the slide at my age. I gave this to my son-in-law and ordered the Ruger. Now I’m able to rack easily rack the slide, the build quality is better and the pocket holster that came with it saved me some money. In all I probably saved over $100. And thank you Bud’s for the great service!!
