This is my second combat magnum I purchased from Bud's. My first is a model 66. Both excellent revolvers. Bud's is my "go-to" for purchasing my toys. Good prices, selection and service.

Bud's was hassel free and shipping was super fast. As to the revolver...this is the modern day equivalent of a 19th century British bull dog revolver. It's a hoot to shoot, accurate and with the "Skeeter" 44 special load clocks close to 900 fps...what's not to like! The action is smooth, times well and does not lead the bore.

I’ve wanted the model 69 since it came out and finally got it. It’s muzzle heavy, feels heavier than my 4” 586 to everyone that holds it. The grips feel good and are small. The recoil is something to expierence, I think changing the grips to fuller grips will help with balance and recoil. The 69 is not as accurate as the other S&W I have and the barrels leads faster with hard cast bullets. I would say groups are 25-50% larger. The trigger is the heaviest of any S&W I own, pretty gritty too. After the grip change and trigger work I’ll decide if I’m keeping it.

I’m really pleased with the combat 69 44 mag. I’ve found it easy to shoot and accurate. I’m using it as my edc and using lower powered self defense loads (ie barnes vor-tx). Closest thing to a potential one shot stop you can get in a carry handgun imho.

Very accurate and handy with 44 special but wouldn’t want to shoot a lot of 44 magnum because of recoil and muzzle blast.

This is a bad b*tch! Way too pretty to shoot, but that’s just crazy. Hard to beat a K frame powerhouse. If you can afford it, buy it. Then put some traditional grips on it. Thank me later.

S&W Model 69 Combat Magnum 2.75-inch barrel makes it work very well for concealed or outdoor defensive carry. Even with its big bore chamberings, this wheel gun is far more useful than you may think.

Very light weight for a 44 mag but controllable

Very fine well made handgun hard to beat a Smith and Wesson revolver

Opened box and immediately noticed a problem with front sight. Sight would rock back and forth and not even sit flush with barrel. Called Smith and Wesson and they were very helpful. Immediately sent a return label.
Hope it does not take too long to resolve the problem.

First purchase from Buds, it went well. The single action trigger on this particular one is the best I have ever experienced.
There was an irregularity where the crown met the bore. It looked like a burr on 2 of the lands. Of course I go into OCD mode and knock these down with gentle polishing. Shifted point of impact by about a foot. Guess I need to take it to a smith to re crown. :(

I have shot nearly 1k 44 Special rounds through this L frame with no problems. I don't like the black hardware, but I love the bead blast finish and wish S&W would put it on more stainless revolvers. The new rubber grips S&W is putting on L frames are a bit ugly, but provide for very comfortable shooting and don't snag clothing when carrying. The L frame is a perfect fit for me. I am getting rid of my N frames--too big. I also have the 4.25" inch Model 69, which has seen a little over 1k rounds of 180 grain 44 Magnum with no issues. I prefer the longer barrel for magnum rounds, but both are sturdy, comfortable, and accurate.

I believe it was previously mentioned but the picture here is not representative of the actual firearm. The actual gun is much more attractive than what is shown. I am a fairly large guy and beyond being aesthetically pleasing the gun just feels right in my hands. The 2.75 barrel is excellently balanced in the hand and provides spot on accuracy out of the box at modest ranges being a "snubby". 44 specials are a joy to shoot and comparable to me to a 45 acp with the weight of this gun. I put a few 44 mags through it just to get a feel and they are in fact "snappy" but tolerable. I bought this as a backup in dangerous country with 44 mag and pulling full duty as a home defense and possible carry with 44 special. In that aspect it is ideal with the benefit of ramping up firepower as needed. Bud's was great as always and my firearm arrived in pristine condition. I feel confident in recommending this firearm for personal defense or backup. While I have only had it a short time I can't see parting with it.

Very nice revolver. I thought it would kick with full power loads it does have some stout recoil but nothing you can't handle .with lesser loads and 44 specials it's a dream to shoot,very accurate and I love the gun.I collect snub nose 44 Magnums but they're a bit of a pain to carry concealed, this gun makes it a lot easier and with 44 specials it's an awesome gun very accurate very low recoil.
