I have bought several guns from Buds and each and every one of the transactions has been easy. The gun arrived within a few days and was a beauty! I will keep buying from Buds as they make it easy to buy and have quick shipping times. Thanks!

This is my first order from Buds. The S&W 629 arrived with in 3 days business days at my FFL. The FFL opened the box in front of me and all I can say is wow. At the range with the S&W 629 44 spc loads and light 44 mags were very accurate with this revolver. The recoil was not that bad . It felt like shooting hot 38 spc loads . I'm very happy with this S&W 629.

As a first-time customer of Bud's, all I can say is that the selection/inventory is second to none, with prices that are both reasonable & affordable. Shipping my purchased item to my neighborhood gun store was easy. Bud's kept me informed every step of the way as to when my item had shipped - as well as when it arrived at my gun store. I plan on ordering again from Bud's. Thanks!

I love revolvers; they're powerful, beautiful, and classy. This Model 629 3" .44 magnum is no exception. High gloss stainless steel finish, beautiful wood grips, and a 3" barrel in a powerful package. Shooting full house .44 magnums out of this thing shakes your bones, but the wood grips are surprisingly comfortable. Accuracy out to twenty yards is exceptional if you do your part. The single action trigger breaks like glass; the double action is smooth. It is one of the best triggers I've experienced on any revolver. I can carry this piece in a holster in the front pocket of my cargo shorts, the grip covered with an untucked shirt. This firearm is perfect for up close encounters, and has enough power to defend against violent attack from two or four-footed critters. If you're serious about power over and above the standard carry caliber, get one of these classy revolvers. You won't be disappointed.

Great backpack gun for the woods. Kicks like a mule with full house rounds, but to be expected. I have had the Alaskan in the past, and this one is balanced better and easier to carry. Trade off is the recoil

I love the revolver, but the finish is pretty ugly for a brand new gun. Polishing appears to be very rushed at Smith which is probably due to production pressure.

Bud's was excellent as always. This SW 629 .44 Mag is a bad boy to the bone. After firing 50 rounds at the range, I CC this one for close up. It packs. Get one, you will not be disappointed.

I very excited about the new member of the family. The SW 629 Deluxe, not quite the “Holy Grail” gun for me but definitely the sighting and capturing of Sasquatch. 😊 What more can one say about the Smith and Wesson quality.
The lock up was tight, the Altamont grips were on point, balance is excellent like my 686 Plus 3”. It has a nice semi-polish look and the .44 is legendary. I know Elmer Keith is mighty proud of this Revolver and would be a major show piece to anyone’s collection.
I would also like to add that becoming a TB Member was well worth it and this being my 2nd firearms purchase in 3 months from Buds Guns, I couldn’t be more pleased.

This revolver is almost perfect, out of the box. The grips near the top are not blended perfectly, however, easy correction. Comfortable to shoot with either magnums or specials.

Typical Buds Quality. I even forgot to put the order number on on my check but the Buds Team had my back and everything worked out perfectly. The SW Model 629 is a beautiful handgun and works flawlessly out of the box. I am completely pleased with Team Buds!!

I think the 44 mag 629 has been used and there are two big black spots inside the frame. I had to sand it and clean it and the gun was very matte and dirty. The sight dot is not straight. I wanted to return it but you guys are very busy now and I am waiting until you are not so busy. After things slow down I will contact you about that. Thank you and it was nice doing business with you guys.

Great little"BIG GUN". kicks like a mule with the 44 mag ammo. Added crimson trace grips makes for a great self defense weapon.

Either S&W's quality has gotten better, or I just got lucky with this one. The cylinder gap is tight, the sight alingment is right on, and the trigger pull is a sweet 3 1/2lbs. single action. Double action runs near 10lbs. It looks good, shoots strait, and barks like a big dog. The one negative is the Altamont grips are too narrow for proper recoil distribution with full magnum loads. They're probably good for concealed carry. They're fine with mid-range and .44 special loads, but are a little too painfull with max loads, at least in my hands. I swapped them out for a nice pair of Eagle rosewood combat finger groove grips and never looked back. Overall I'd recommend this Smith.

I love this gun! There is something about how a three inch stainless .44 magnum looks that makes it irresistible. I purchased some wooden combat grips off ebay that had a little more meat to them for recoil absorption (Thailand made, perfectly adequate, I do recommend). This does have some snap to it with true 240 grain magnums, but shouldn't be unbearable if you have good grips. The grips that come on this particular model aren't bad, they are good for concealment and feel decent enough. However, a thicker back-strap cut feels so much better on the webbing of your hand when it snaps back at you, AND it doesn't make it any harder to conceal if your holster is right. I recommend a DON HUME 3" leather "inside the waistband" holster, they have the strongest/stiffest belt clip I have encountered and am very happy with it! Anyway, this gun shoots and feels great to me. If you get one and the action is stiff where the trigger wants to stick when you pull it all the way back on a certain chamber, simply find the sticky chamber(s) and work the trigger by pulling it all the way back and lowering the hammer carefully with your finger then working the trigger back and forth in that last 1/4" of play where it's binding when pulled all the way back. It's not a defect, just very tight tolerances in the ratcheting mechanism of the cylinder star and cylinder advancement hand. It will smooth out and go away like mine did and will function perfectly fine. Thank you BUD's for quick service as usual, always a happy customer!!! This is an awesome gun,,,, treat-yo-self to one!!!

This is an excellent firearm and purchasing from Buds was outstanding as usual. On the positive side, the grip shape makes this more comfortable to shoot magnum loads. The only negative comment I have is that the 3" barrel means that the ejection rod is shorter than normal causing cases to not completely eject and some have to be pulled out by hand, so rapid reloads are not much of an option. If that matters to you, then get a longer barrel.

Pistol is great! Bud's saved me about $90 over anybody else for this same S&W. Shipping was fast. Highly recommend Bud's!!!!

I don't know why some people are intimidated by a 3 inch 44 Magnum. This gun is fun to shoot, easy to carry, and great to look at. Perfectly balanced, I can shoot it comfortably all day. The only change I made was to replace the stock grips with some Hogue one-piece cocobolo grips for a more secure hold. Outstanding

Love this gun! The S&W 29/629 .44 magnum collection are some of the finest revolvers made and this one is my favorite. Looking for a concealable large bore revolver you cannot go wrong with this one.

Handy size for being unobtrusive and there when you need it. Buds did a fine job. I had the revolver in hand 7 days after I ordered it. After testing it out I found that it shot way off at 50 feet. After closer inspection I discovered that the barrel is clocked 3 or 4 degrees right. I’ll be sending it back to S&W for adjustment. I don’t fault Buds for this. It should never have left the factory that way. The product rating reflects my impression of the revolver, not Buds. The factory did a great job of hiding the misaligned barrel by buffing the frame to match the barrel. Apparently It’s easier to hide a mistake on the stainless rounded surfaces of a revolver than it is to correct it.

Purchase #18 from Bud's, and it went as smooth as all the others. Fit and finish inspection saw no rough edges, or metal to metal parts with gaps or high/low edges. Cylinder latch is stiff, but the cylinder moves as it should. The stainless finish is not as nice as some of my other Smith guns. This one falls in the area of a camp gun that you won't mind giving some holster wear or other normal use/abuse scars. The trigger right out of the box is NICE. Single action about 3 pounds, no play, and clean let off. Double action is as good or better then some of my performance center Smith's. No stacking, no creep, and a predictable stop just before the hammer drops. I expect to see some nice target groups using the double action. The revolver arrived at my FFL filthy. It was obliviously test fired at the factory more then a few times, but that's OK. I hope it means that they took some time to make sure it will function properly. Dirt I can deal with poor quality control no one likes. I live in this liberal piss pot of a state called California so I couldn't take my new toy to the range until 10 days from now, but I believe that it will meet my expectations for function and accuracy. Count your blessings if you live in a gun friendly/free state!!
