Overall not bad for an affordable over under. The action does come a bit tight right out of the box but loosens up after some use.

I started shooting trap in a corn field with a ground thrower 51 years ago and always used a 12 gauge pump. Well this Fall after shooting an average of 19 in the skeet field, a fellow shooter said try my O/U, I replied that's going to cost me money! My first day out on the trap range, first time firing brand new CZ Drake from Bud's, I broke 19 then changed to the II choke from the I choke and broke 24 then 25! My average has improves to 22 on skeet. Buying at Bud's and shipping to my local FFL was a breeze.

Nice shotgun, shoots well. Has a little bit more kick than a semi automatic. Very stiff out of the box, but it'll loosen up over time with good lube and use.

Hard to review yet. Jury is still out. It came nicely packaged and in a nice case. Gun looks ok. Fits me well and I like the view from it. Shot it with the top barrel first. Both barrels fired as normal. Switched the selector to fire the bottom barrel first. Bottom barrel fired, but then the top would not. Tried several times, same result. Took it apart to have a look. Nothing obvious at first glance, no machining burrs etc. Went through the firing sequence with the buttstock off to watch the action. Noticed the sear for the bottom barrel wasn’t disengaging from the trigger block. Upon closer inspection and comparing it to the top barrel sear, too much material was removed from the sear when it was fitted. I called CZ and they are supposed to be sending me a new sear. We’ll see what happens. I hope this is the only problem. I really have high hopes for this budget hunting O/U. A simple fitting of the sear and I’m sure we’ll be back in business. Buds was fantastic as usual!!!

Beautifully made shotgun!

Buds service, shipping and product description was, as usual, spot on. I didn't want to post a review until I had actually used the shotgun. From the box, it is pretty stiff, but loosens up to usable condition pretty quickly. The manual has decent information about how to lubricate the shotgun which helps. With a couple of rounds of sporting clays in the bag, I can say that I really like this shotgun. There were no malfunctions of any kind. It shoulders nicely and functions well, although still a little stiff. The mechanical triggers were good and the safety/barrel selector positive. For the price, I think it's a real value, and a lot of fun without breaking the bank.

Have you ever yearned for an over-under shotgun but couldn't justify getting a second mortgage on your house to buy one? Well, the CZ Drake is just the ticket to own an O/U without spending your kid's college money. No, I haven't even fired it yet, but it comes up to the eye nicely, swings well, and the joining of the metal is perfect. I don't know how they do that. No, I don't work for CZ, and yes I'm happy with the shotgun. If you want one, then get it.

Great product and price and good transaction through Bud’s. I already own same model in 20ga and purchased one in 12ga. Have shot 3 rounds of skeet with it and very pleased. The reason I picked the Drake was no auto safety and extractors rather than ejectors. Also naturally fit me well. Used for skeet and sporting clays. Comes with 5 chokes (with wrench & case) and a nice hard case for gun. Nice My first 20ga had some issues with fit of barrels to reciever. Sent in under warranty and CZ-USA sent me a whole new gun in less than 2 weeks.

I was not sure what to expect when I purchased this shotgun. I needed a gun for sporting clays so I purchased the CZ Drake 12 gauge OU shotgun. My first impression when it arrived was that it appeared to be of good quality. I own 4 other CZ firearms and they have functioned flawlessly. The action was stiff as others stated so I broke it down and cleaned as greased per CZ's recommendations. I took the gun to the range and fired about 50 rounds with different chokes to check the patterns. They were consistent and it was comfortable to hold and shoot. It's an entry level OU so no extensive scrolling or details but it functions well. I've used it for 2 sporting clay events and I like this gun more each time I shoot it. The action is breaking in and for a non nonsense OU you can't go wrong. I highly recommend its purchase.

Purchased a CZ Drake O/U 12ga. from Bud's. Painless, easy, efficient and economical. Would and will buy more firearms from Bud's. Will be using this shotgun for pheasant and chukar hunting.

Picked it up from my FFL and shot two rounds of skeet with it the next morning, after giving the action an application of STOS grease. It functioned perfectly, and I prefer the extractors to ejectors for skeet. It's a field grade gun, and weighs considerably less than my Browning 725 Sporting 32" does, but it breaks clays just fine. Fit is exceptional, finish is typical of CZ, function is excellent. It's a quality firearm that will last a lifetime of hunting, and has five chokes to allow adjustments appropriate for any hunting use. It's probably the best buy in it's price range. It's very tight, but will loosen up as it breaks in, and the lighter weight will be appreciated in the field.

comes in a decent plastic case. the feel of the wood is slightly disappointing, but everything looks great to the eye. The action is extremely stiff on mine. It needs to be polished and broken in. For the price point it is very difficult to find something comparable that isn't an aluminum receiver.

I purchased this shotgun for trap, I have several other shotguns, however this is my dedicated trap gun, excellent quality.

I currently own a Remington 870 Express and after purchasing the CZ over and under Drake 12 gauge shotgun there is absolutely no comparison. This shotgun from CZ is amazing! Not only is it extremely well made, but it is a thing of beauty! Can't wait to use it out in the field.

Great Gun. I was looking for something budget minded but wanted to make sure I got high quality. This gun is a great balance. The only thing I would change about it is the action. The break open action is a little stiff and can get harder to use after shooting some rounds.

Fit and finish are great. The guns shoots and points well. Unfortunately I had to send it back to CZ with a week of getting it because the trigger would not reset when shooting from the bottom barrel first. I have not received the gun back yet but as long as they have fixed it I will be happy.

I think this is a great shotgun. It has taken me some time to learn how to: assemble easily and hold correctly while shooting. I feel that the recoil is a bit too much so I invested in a recoil pad and installed that myself. That has taken out the recoil issue. For the money, it's a great shotgun.

Great over under. Fells very well made and shoots great. Fit and finish are excellent.

Buds has great service. This shotgun I bought was at a great price. I couldn’t find it anyplace else for a better price. I researched over/under shotguns and finally settled for the Cz Drake. It is probly the best lower priced shotguns that is if a very good quality. The Drake is well manufactured and an all around solid weapon. I test fired it and it was operational as expected. I look forward to shooting clays and upland birds with it. Thanks again Buds for great service as always.
