I like te feel of my Colt 1911. It is very hhigh quality as I expected. I found it on Bud's and checked the pricing on the wrb. You can't beat Bud's prices and fast shiopping. If you're looking for one of the besst pistol made you ccan't go wrong with this colt 70 series. It is as good of a pistol you can find. Glad I bought another one. They haben't let me down yet. Thanks to Bud's. I will be buying from them in the future.

So far not a great gun. lots of failure to feed issues with several different types of ammunition and magazines. Gun has been sent to Colt for warranty work. Colt customer service was very good hoping feeding issues will be taken care of.

Love my colt competition! The only thing I would say is a negative was the fact it came with one mag and no replacement rods for the fiber optic sights. Other than that this Marine ran about 800 rounds through it with no issues. Great weapon especially for those who had it in the service. Ran some jhp plus p and no issues a lot of 230 ball ammo no issues. And it accuracy is great at 25 yards paired with a galco combat master holster. Good quality overall buds as usual great service!

When this product arrived I was greatly surprised! The workmanship was flawless and the finish was what I expected. The action was in typical Colt fashion. I have dealt with Bud's quite a bit recently and they never fail me! I received this product very quickly. I will continue to use Bud's in the future!

Not bad at all the gun and buds supersede my expectations as always for the price I like it.

A basic blued 1911 Series 70 Government with certain nice mods like the frame undercut behind the trigger guard and decent sights. Disappointed though as the slide finish is not the Colt quality I am used to from earlier years. There were two noticeable scratches on the slide - on top next to front sight and on right rear of slide. The firearm had a dirty barrel indicating more than just a couple of test rounds had been fired through it.....Unfortunate. Almost like it was a demo model......

I was a little hesitant to buy this as I felt the low price meant low expectations, but I was wrong. This is a very accurate, well built pistol that I’m proud to own. Feels good in my small hands, recoil is not excessive and overall looks good. Having never owned a cackle that was made during “tumulus times” I had nothing to compare with. But being a CZ fan convinced me to purchase this and just wanting another 1911. Did a few mods like a EdBrown mainspring and mag well and some Wilson grips it’s an awesome firearm!

Firstly, the interaction with buds was great. Gun arrived fast so no problem with buds. Colt on the other hand is a different story. First, the fiber optic front sight just immediately blew off the gun like second mag. No big deal I guess but maybe install the tube a little better Colt so it lasts 20 rounds. Next thumb safety broke within 50 rounds. That was great so gun is falling apart within a box of ammo. The good news is that for a company that has been making 1911s for over 100 years their quality has allowed me to learn some gunsmithing skill. The thumb safety was fit so bad I did a better job on my first attempt (setting aside that it broke). Now through 500 or so rounds it has had continual failures to feed basically from the first magazine using 7 and 8 round magazines from Wilson, Ed brown, Colt, mec gar, Springfield, and metal form. This is all while using federal, SIG, Winchester, and Remington 230 ball ammo. This Colt competition has been the most unreliable and fragile gun I have owned. I have Springfield, Dan wesson, Smith and Wesson and Tisas 1911's that all perform better. Beyond that the finish is adequate though very easily scratched, the trigger is heavier than any other 1911 I have shot almost 7 lbs, the grips are decent and when it is not breaking the accuracy is standard for almost any 1911. It is ashame this was allowed to leave the factory. Colt has clearly just tried to ride it's reputation because it can not be their quality. Since even if it was not breaking it would be average at best. Would not recommend this 1911 there are many better options and many for less money.

Ok- It's a Colt, need I say more? Absolutely! This thing out of the box was very tight in all aspects of the gun. I could definitely tell it was set up for competitive shooting. After the first 200 rounds, it really started to get excellent. Takedowns and cleanings were more effortless now. I'm proud to own it, and really love the Blued carbon steel. I have tested a lot of brands of ammo, and to my surprise, it seems to really like the CCI Blazer brass 230 Grain. Im sure results will vary.

First time buying from Budsgunshop and it was a great experience 5 stars! Now for the product review, this is my third Colt 1911 45acp. Pros: It is accurate considering the heavy trigger. The barrel and bushing are fitted well and it shows with the consistent grouping (under 2in) at 15 yards. I can feel the the bushing being fitted tightly but not over done and needing a tool. After a complete disassembling everything looks ok for the most part. The finished is well done and consistent. Now, one thing the pistol didn’t have a consistent dehorn/bevel across the whole pistol which is a negative thing but a common thing from Colt. Cons: Out the box the trigger was at 6.5lbs which it’s heavy. While disassemble the trigger rails area needed some cleaning up (little burrs) with a file as well as the magazines catch area had heavy burrs that were catching on the trigger. Did replace the trigger and did some cleaning on the trigger group and ended up at a consistent 6 lbs still heavy with a consistent break. The barrel has a large cosmetic defect near the locking lugs which the pistol will need to go back to Colt for replacement as well a complete dehorn and trigger job. I am no expert but have been learning and studying the 1911 platform as I have been carrying one since 2011. At best 3/5 stars but I was prepared for such case as it is a Colt.

Excellent fit and finish cycles smooth and easy only ran 50 rounds through it so far still carrying my Springfield A-1 mostly. Love my Colt plan on putting a 460 Rowland conversion kit on it then carrying it. I did change the grips to Magpul and I replaced the plastic MSH with an Ed Brown arched MSH with detachable magwell and an Ed Brown extended mag release. I need to put some white paint on the rear sight also to see the notch better.

Outstanding firearm. Have fired this pistol several times. It is most definitely a straight shooter. Have had zero malfunctions and had become one of two of my favorite and go to pistols.
