Great shooting pistol! Always wanted one in .38 Super and with this one being on sale, it was an easy decision. Build quality is great, fit and finish are also great for the price point. Very accurate and fun to shoot. Only issue I have had is with the magazine that comes with this pistol…it will not allow the pistol to cycle properly all the time. Found after market mags at my local gun shop and problem solved! Since changing magazines, I have not had any issues with it cycling. I highly recommend this pistol.

Great item and great price

Wow! Just got done putting my first 50 rounds through this sweetheart and I'm loving it! Never owned a .38 Super before but I decided to give it a try. all 50 rounds went through without even a hiccup. The only problem I bumped into was the ammo I brought ran out too soon. Solid shooter, very accurate. Feels great in the hand. I own several RIA .45's and now this .38 and they all run like a dream. I like them every bit as well as my Tisas and my Kimber. Get you one. Or more.

After receiving it, I inspected it. I found no defects. The Parkerized finish is excellent; it's dark and strong. It looks like it's even better than the previous RIA 1911s I've purchased. I highly recommend this gun and company!

Buds did a fine a job. This is a one stop shopping store. Great deals all around. The gun I received was pretty loose, rattles like an old Ford. Not Buds fault. May be expecting more , but it was a $350 gun . My kids both own RIA's that are very tight. I will get figured out. Still give Bud's 5 Stars. RIA on this particular gun 3 Stars.

Great service and prices

This gun is wonderful to shoot. It has a lot more energy than the 45acp but with about half the felt recoil of the 45 in this this gun. I was able to get 10 out of 10 rounds on target rapid firing it and 15 yards. Pros: 1) Shot to point of aim with 3 different hp and fmj ammo configurations with reasonable groups. 2) No jams, etc. with hollow point ammo. 3) recoil is less than or equal to a 9mm in most common 9mm configurations. 4) Price point is great 5) Finish is reasonable based on price point Cons: 1) Disassembly/reassembly is worse than any 1911 model I've owned. The recoil spring guide is permanently attached to the spring. The spring plunger needs to be screwed off of the spring in order to remove the spring and spring guide. 2) Factory grips are horrible. Solved easily by installing Hogue wraparound finger grove grips for about $30.

Good quality. Haven't seen any factory damage or errors. With wislon combat mags it cycles perfect.

My first Rock Island and thought I would try it in 38 supper. Very good and accurate right out of the box. Very pleased with Bud's service. Have ordered several pistols from Bud's and always pleased.

Once I got the proper load figured out (.356 dia vs. .355 or .357 124 grs round nose) and 5 grs accurate # 2) it ran and shot great.

I lost another 38 Super +P on a move 2 years ago and I have ammo and magazines that desperately needed to be matched up with a good pistol. This RIA GI standard is built just as great as their .45ACP's. The only down side is the GI sights. When I was young they were fun. Well, I am no longer young and they give me fits to see. Off to the range we must go to see how well I can do and if they do what I think I will be getting another slide with better sights for it. If I take that route, I hope I will be able to make a swap without having to find a gunsmith to get it to work. The ones around here are almost impossible to get into. One problem at a time. I am hoping to keep everything as is except one more little trick with the sights. Rock Island Armory really does good work on them.

The gun arrived within a few days and was exactly what I was hoping for. I was shooting within 5 minutes and right away, after 1 clip I was hitting all bulls eyes at 20 ft. Very smooth action. Extremely easy to disassemble and clean. The only thing I will change are the grips, the grips that come with the gun are smooth and I like a little texture. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

This is a good example of an early 1911 style pistol. I am interested in the caliber (38 super auto) and though I do not own a 1911 in 45acp, this is the first of two 1911 style pistols that I bought from Buds Gun Shop. I live in rural area but I cannot just go outside and fire it so neither of my 2 1911's have been fired yet.

This handgun does what it's supposed to do. Shoots beautifully. I changed to more aggressive handgrips, original grips were too smooth for me, I couldn't feel them. No it's perfect.

This is a very nice firearm. I have shot about 500 rounds through it with 0 malfunctions. Shot accurate out of the box, came with a test round casing and a tag with the initials of the guy that sighted it at the factory. A touch of class. I’m impressed with RIA.

Thank you for delivering this product on time. I look forward to shooting it. It does appear as the magazine is not original. It won’t accept more than 2 shells then binds up. I will need to obtain another magazine before I can shoot it.

Have yet to test fire. Container appeared to have been opened when I looked at it at FFL. Got some snap caps. Run thru with included mag. First round did not extract but once that round was cleared the remainder worked fine. Rim of rounds were damaged. Bought 2 Chip McCormick (sp) mags which work great. Hope to shoot in the next week or two.
