This is just an awesome gun! I am not the best shot with a pistol, so I wanted a bit heavier gun (steadies my arm a little) and 5" barrel. This fits the bill. The additional features over a basic 1911 are well worth the extra $150-200. If you customize a basic much at all you will end up spending that difference and probably more anyway. A good friend and gun expert was super impressed by this gun. Look at the ratings, whew!

Very pleased with this product. Ordered online through Bud's website on Saturday, March 22nd and received from my FFL on Wednesday, April 2nd. Shipping and delivery were as expected. Unlike most firearms I have purchased in the past, this pistol was covered in a light grease and inside a cellophane bag inside of the pistol case it was shipped in. Checking the pistol at the FFL was a bit messy because of this, but everything looked and functioned as it should. I was not able to work with the pistol until the following Monday. It took about 2 hours of meticulous disassembly and cleaning to remove all of the grease from the firearm using Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber and various cleaning tools. It cleaned up well and the parkerized finish looked very good after being given a light coat of oil after the cleaning. I found no defects in the firearm during this process. I could not get the barrel bushing to rotate to start with until I removed the slide and relieved the spring tension on the full length guide rod. After cleaning this was no longer an issue. I was impressed with the polishing and smoothing that was done on the feed ramp of the barrel. Post clean up checking of the action while cycling cartridges from the magazine through the firearm showed no feeding issues. Took the firearm to the range and cycled several ammo types through the pistol. I fired 150 rounds of various types of ammo through the pistol during that range time. There were no failures to feed, failures to fire or extraction issues related to the pistol. With a brand new aftermarket magazine, there was one failure to hold open after the last shot on the first full magazine used with it. That did not happen again. All ammo and magazines (original and aftermarket) performed perfectly. I fired both round nose target loads (115 gr.) and hollow points (124 gr) through it. Both shot to the same point of impact at 7 yards. I was surprised at how close the adjustable sights were set to my aimpoint as received. I made no adjustments to the sights and could keep 10 rounds in the 8,9,10 ring of a 50 ft. target (about 3 inches) at the 7 yard distance shooting two hand hold with no rest. This is as good as I shoot any other pistol I have or have had over the past several years. The trigger is excellent with a very short takeup and no overtravel. Without a trigger gauge, I would guess the break point to be around 4 to 5 lbs. I am impressed with this firearm. It is everything I hoped in would be. I highly recommend this RIA Ultra FS 9mm pistol and would buy it again based on my experience.

This gun is exactly what you hope it will be. Nothing too fancy and the finish is your basic parkerized finish. The trigger is nice and all the features you see listed are delivered nicely. I think it's a pretty great bargain and I'm glad I purchased it.

Runs well, soft shooter and accurate so far. I now have 3 ultra fs RIAs (45 acp, 10mm and this one) All run without problems and all shoot straight. And Buds is Buds, always good.

Purchased a Rock Island Ultra FS 9mm pistol, similar to a 1911 model. Straight from the factory box, gun shot a tight 4" grouping, working perfectly. Did NOT need to install a performance trigger or replace plastic recoil rod or sights. Gun is all metal, hammer fired, single stack -10 rounds of 9mm. Has an extremely short trigger travel - most likely contributing to its accuracy. I am very happy with the purchase of this gun. Buds shipped the gun exactly as stated. Excellent experience. I have not been paid or compensated by any company or anyone for my opinion.

love this pistol. i shot 50 rounds through it the day i got it with no issues at all. it is solid and heavier than another 9mm i own, but feels good with minimal recoil. the sights are simple but effective, the magazine that was included is easy to load, and it inserts and ejects easily without any effort. for the $$, this is a great 1911 that is solid and well made.

Rock Island rocks! Until I got my hands on an SA-35 this was my favorite 9mm. The weight of this 1911 makes shooting it very pleasant even with some stout 9mm loads and it is incredibly accurate! The fiber optic front sight is a god send for aging eyes. The flat finish isn't my favorite but for the money you just can't beat these 1911 pistols from RIA. G10 grip panels, fiber optic front sight, what's not to love? And as a reloader I appreciate the fact that it throws the brass in a neat pile at my feet. If you are a fan of the 1911 and you've been wanting to experience one in 9mm I would suggest buying this pistol. Just be prepared to buy lots of ammo because your pile will go down quick once you get this baby in your hands!

Buds was great as always!! I put about 400 rounds down range with this gun with NO problems at all.

Ordered on a Sunday, shipped that Wednesday, in my hands 2 days later. Nice! Finally got a chance to run a couple brands of ammo thru this RIA 9mm FS. Only 75 rounds, but not a single hiccup. No failure to do anything aside from shoot. Everything on the pistol looks and feels just fine - especially for the price point. After cleaning all the storage oil from outside and in, the slide felt smooth w/o a hint of sloppiness - anywhere. Trigger felt pretty good out of the box, maybe 5 lbs. After those 75 rounds, it felt even better. So far, couldn't be happier.

This is an awesome firearm, very reliable never any failures or other issues. One of my favorite guns I own, goes to the range every time I do!

Accurate and well built. This is my third Rock Island 1911. I find them to be as capable as any other 1911 style pistol I have owned/fired (including Colt and Kimber).

This is a great, sturdy pistol. In 9mm, it is easy to handle. The trigger is light and crisp, and allows the shooter to be as accurate as the gun. I have put about 1000 rounds through it. It has functioned well, with a few misfeeds. From time to time I don't hit the magazine in quite right, so thats on me I guess. The rear sight adjusted well, and the fiber optic is plenty bright and easy to see. The 1911 design is easy to break down and clean, and everything about this pistol feels like quality to me. I think this gun is fun to shoot, reliable and will last a couple of generations.

This gun is ROCK solid. Very well built and cycles great. Accurate and plenty of heft with very little recoil. Parkerized finish could be better but I didn’t buy it to put in a gun show. It shoots and functions great!

This is a great 1911, I have put 400 rounds through it now with no malfunctions. I own other 1911s that cost twice what this one did and they shoot no better. It was soaked in shipping oil so the fiber optic was discolored and the overall fit/finish is not perfect but acceptable. If your looking for a accurate 1911 at a very reasonable price this is the one! Buds was easy to work with, I will use them again!

Super smooth action and trigger. Excellent quality. Great fit and finish. No failures of any kind. Shoots FMJ and hollow points of different brands accurately and without fail. I did change grips to a less aggressive pattern for these older hands. Also changed sights to Meprolight tritium sights since this will be a personal protection gun. A Great 1911 for the price. You will not be disappointed buying this pistol. And the recoil is really light.

I think the fit and finish of firearm is very good. Shoots very well. Very pleased with the quality and value.

I have had this gun for a few years now and shoot it pretty much every week. It is an AWESOME gun for the money. It is actually my favorite gun to shoot.

The Rock Island Ultra FS 9mm is a great gun for the price. The trigger is on par with pistols costing twice as much. The fit and finish are really good. The slide runs nice and tight and the barrell locks nicely on the lugs. I took it to the range and ran a couple hundred rounds through it without a single hic up. Accuracy was good as I can hold anymore. The only thing that I have to change is the front sight height because it shoots the 115 grain bullets a couple inches low at 25 yards, so I ordered a new one from Dawson precision and I will be all set.
