exceeded my expectations. this 1911 blew my mind at how well it performed. only got about 250 rds through it so far but not jammed once .love the fiber optic sight .i did change grips but kept the woods "there not bad actually".trigger is crisp at 3 lp. brake

This is an amazing pistol! I shot it for the first time about a week ago. It only required a few clicks up to be right on target at ten yards! I want to buy the bigger one in 10mm now!

I just returned from the range with my RIA PRO MATCH ULTRA 45 cap. I am very impressed with it. Just a couple of sight adjustments, and right on target. I ran @ 200 rounds without any failures. Buds was excellent as always with getting my purchase to me. This may be my EDC now. Great purchase !!! As always “ THANK YOU BUDS”…

Buds was great as always. A new, well built, war horse 1911 with upgrades ….on sale in 2025 for under $500… thank you God! The mag seems junky labeled “act-mag” from Italy 8 rnd… range mag now. Duty mag will be Wilson combat. Trigger has 1/8” take up before engagement but is smooth & what u want from a 1911. Grip tape on the front of the grip frame, $20 G10 grips and the gun sticks to the hand like Velcro ! Drastically helps the “feel” of the gun. After 30 min with a buffing wheel the barrel, bushing, and rails, are polished mirror & she is smooth as butter. The sights are great, great trigger, slide feels like it rolls on ball bearings what’s not to like

I am so happy I purchased this outstanding 1911 from Rock Island. I don't know how they can build such a beautiful 1911 match pistol with all the bells and whistles for such a reasonable price! You won't go wrong if you buy this one and Bud's will ship it to your FFL without delay.

Absolutely amazing pistol not just for the price point. Shoots very accurate out the box have 750 rounds through it with no ftf or fte. Very soft shooter I run 230 grain federal with no issues.

Absolutely Amazing RIA .45!!! The First Time I took it out to a ranch I set up 6 Soda cans and I hit the first 4 dead on missed the fifth and hit the 6th… RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!! I waited a long time and trained a lot before going to 1911. It finally made sense to transition and I am so glad I did. Great trigger pull and reset ,amazing accuracy. Nice groups at all distances. Recoil barely noticeable just a full blown pleasure to shoot. Great price and service by Buds this was my Grand Slam of purchases. Not enough words,........

Then shot targets at 15yds. Wow the 45acp in this 1911 the felt recoil hardly felt. This pistol is so freaking accurate. This is one of the first time I’ve gotten a handgun that makes me want to get another one ASAP. If you are looking for your first or fourth 1911, this is a must have especially if you like 45acp.

The fit and finish is very good out of the box. Accuracy really came in at about 80 rounds, probably both me and the arm learning each other. I exclusively use Winchester white box for now. I’ve had a couple issues that the mfg has facilitated a service return. First, the last round hold open essentially did not engage. Maybe 4 times in the first 200 rounds. Otherwise it fed perfectly using factory mags. Once it was back from the mfg, the hold open engaged almost always. Again, the discrepancy was probably my grip rather than the arm. Unfortunately, I started getting push feeds after about 100 rounds. I am presently still working through this one as it’s often a magazine issue, but can’t get the problem to occur predictably.

Very pleased. Very accurate. Very reliable. Will eat any reloaded slug configuration I feed it, including lead SWC's for the 45 Colt. Don't like guide rods. Harder to field strip & recoil spring binding has been a non-issue on my other 1911's. Don't need an abi-safety either but after all it is a Match 1911. RIA has unwarranted press on producing "B" grade 1911's. Only corner cut I can see is a cast frame & slide machined to spec as opposed to being milled from billet. Huge saving passed on to the buyer.

Great pistol. Rock Island did a great job in the design of this .45 ACP. Action is very smooth and with the adjustable sites you will be on target in you first two mags. The weight and balance is very good, excellent for shooting with one hand. I use it for my CC weapon/home defense and shoot regulatory at 1-2 MOA groups at 25 yards indoors or out with FMJ or HP ammo. Typically, in my first 7 round mag i'll have 5 holes, two will pass though the same hole. Great shooting for the price and well worth it. I love the .45 and the 1911 platform, it feels good in your hand and with the .45 ACP it will stop what ever needs stopping. Buds Guns is always great to work with. They have great communication and timely shipping is hassle free. I'm in California and as most of you know we have some of the strictest gun and ammo laws around but ordering through Buds Guns made the process very enjoyable. Thanks and HAPPY SHOOTING!!!

RIA has outdone itself with this pistol. Unbelievable accuracy out of the box with no sight adjustment at all. Perfect function with no FTF, FTE etc. Definitely worth the money and rivals much higher priced pistols of the same type. Bud's customer service is great from the online purchase to the pickup. The online customer service rep (Tori) did a great job, and followed the order from placement to delivery. Will be coming to Bud's again for any future needs.

My Rock island 45 ultra showed up in California in 5 days. Yes California. We love our guns and our rights as much as any other American. Arrived in perfect condition. Put 200 rounds through it right out of the box. Operated perfectly with light,medium and heavy hand loads. Slide is incredibly smooth. Trigger is very good. The range guys can't believe it is bone stock. Bud's and Rock Island did me right.

This is the best deal I've ever found on a 1911. I own Colt, Springfield, Les Baer, Smith & Wesson, etc., so I know what good quality is, and this one holds its own with the big boys at 1/3 to 1/2 the price. While the parkerized finish and wood grips are not the most attractive I've seen, the metal finish is a consistent, solid, deep, matte black all over. The fiber optic front sight could be brighter, but that's a quick and easy fix. That's where average ends with this gun. With a couple clicks of the windage knob on the adjustable rear sight, I was hitting 2" groups in the X-ring of a standard B2 silhouette target at 25 yards standing, freestyle/unsupported. At 10 yards I was putting holes inside holes. Accuracy is awesome. Helping the accuracy is the super smooth, crisp, 3 pound trigger pull (verified by gauging). I don't know what the variation is among these factory triggers, but I'm impressed and I think you will be too. The overtravel adjustment on the match trigger is nice, and I quickly dialed it in so that there is no overtravel whatsoever. Very little pre-travel, as well (although that's not adjustable). The slide to frame, barrel lugs to slide, bushing to slide/barrel fit is nice and tight. No wiggle or rattling at all. The muzzle crown is chamfered for a good look and extra protection. The frame's feed ramp is polished and the barrel's throat is opened and polished for reliable feeding. I like the full length guide rod, but that's just a personal preference. The ambi safety is nice as well, as I'm a lefty. The mag well is beveled to help with mag changes. The back strap (mainspring housing) is checkered, but the front strap has vertical grooves cut down it. This provides a very strong, positive grip while not making your fingers feel like they've been run on a cheese grater after hundreds of consecutive rounds. This hands down the best value I've found in a 1911 so far. Bud's was great, as always, and I had the gun within 7 working days after ordering. I can't say enough about how great this pistol is, so stop reading this and buy one now!

Finally getting around to writing something about the RIA Match 1911 .45 cal that I bought from Bud's. First, it's always a pleasure to deal with Bud's. Fast replies, prompt shipment and all the paperwork is complete. I've had the gun out a few times and it works flawlessly. I have no compliants and only praise for the workmanship and function. Only drawback is it only comes with one magazine and Armscor doesn't list any factory mags available so I'm looking around to find info on 8 round mags that work well on this gun. I've heard that some manufacturers mags don't seat well on the RIA but that is not an issue with RIA itself. So far I've had no trouble with the gun, it seems tight and shoots well. Getting good groups at the range out of the box. I've Colt's (Commander) and the RIA compares favorable at a much lower price.

This is a great firearm. I only have 100 rounds of cheap Federal FMJ through it at this time, but the gun cycled every round flawlessly. The fiber optic front sight shows up very well. The trigger is very good too- not a hair trigger by any means, but it has a light yet crisp pull. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

This is not a great shooter "for the money". It is just a great shooter regardless of price. I own four other 1911s which were at least twice the price of the RIA match and this pistol is just as accurate and more reliable out of the box. I now have over 5,000 rounds through it and it has had only one malfunction which was a failure to feed in the first 100 rounds. The parkerized finish isn't as pretty and the fit isn't as precise as my other 1911s but this thing just plain works.

Outstanding match-grade 1911 for the price. Bushing and barrel (and overall barrel lock-up) are great, the slide-frame fit is very good, and I really like the fiberoptic front sight. Can't go wrong for $600.
