Love this pistol! The 1911 XSE I received was not the same model that was listed on the Colt site. Heck, it was several years old without the Novak sights. I contacted Colt, specifically the Custom Shop supervisor after searching the 1911 Forum. Brent took care of me and my pistol, upgrading it to the current specifications and making all right. The 1911XSE shoots lights out, before and after returning to Colt. Trigger excellent. Accuracy excellent. No complaints after the "correct sights" were installed. I have since installed an S&A Magwell/Mainspring housing and G10 grips. This pistol is great! Normally I replace the barrel bushing with an EGW Gunsmith-fit bushing to tweak accuracy potential, but this Colt came with a tight fit bushing. Looking forward to my next Colt purchase!

Excellent pistol. Could not be happier. After a quick clean and lube, I headed to the range and put a couple of hundred rounds through it. It performed flawlessly. Bud's service was excellent. I highly recommend both the 1911 and Buds.

Picked up mine yesterday at my local FFL. Have many 1911s but this is my first Colt. And first impressions of the gun are...well I'm pleased more so than I expected to be. Heard all the stuff about Colts being fitted loosely slide to frame, not so with this gun. Fit is very good and the finish is very nice. Now the finish isn't the old deep royal blue that Colt used decades ago but it is very nicely done and of very good quality, matte rounds and polished flats. No jagged edges anywhere as they have been smoothed over before the finish was applied. Series 80 gun as is case with most Colts today, though the trigger feels very robust. Haven't fired any rounds yet through the gun but am certain this one will not disappoint.

Fast shipping as usual with Bud's. The pistol is a great 1911 with a flawless blued finish. Just beware that it comes heavily oiled it took me about an hour to mop off all of the excess.

Probably the last Colt I can ever buy in CA. I was a little taken back when I got it and it appeared to have been in long term storage. Box was dusty, but the gun was oiled and appeared fine. My first range trip proved that standard 230 gr Wichester, Federals, and Mag Techs are all fine with this gun. I'm happy to have finally added a Colt to my collection of 1911's.

Great all around 1911! Tight frame to slide fit. Tight barrel lock up and good bushing fit. Crisp trigger. Excellent bluing and finish. Best of all, it is a tack driver. 1200 rounds down the pipe with a mixture of ball and hallow point ammunition with zero malfunctions with the Colt magazines and Tripp Cobra Mags. Very disappointed in this gun. Looked fine at my FFL, but when I got it home and took the grips off there was pitting on the frame under both grips around all 4 grip bushings. Had to send this brand new gun back to Colt for a refinish, and it was still pitted (though less so) when I got it back. It's now getting refinished by the factory again. No fault of Buds, but this one has been a real disappointing purchase. Still don't have my gun.

I couldn't be happier! The Colt 1911 is my favorite and I have owned a couple. The overall quality of this 1911 is simply excellent. Bud's is a superb online store to work with. Thus far, I received my Colt O1980XSE Blue today . It's a beautiful piece of machinery from Colt . I have never in my 48 years have 'EVER' ........ and I mean "EVER"...... come across ......"THE MOST CHEAPEAST FIREARMS SPECIALISTS' I have "EVER" seen before. I will always buy from BUDS.

When I picked up my Colt from my FFL I gave it a good once over and found no defects. The gun came in a plastic bag with a light coating of lube. Later that night I tore it down for cleaning and inspection. It was clean and lubed. No worries. The workmanship and finish on this thing are excellent. Took it out today and ran 50 rounds of Federal HP through it with different magazines with no malfunctions. It's accurate and the sights are easy to see. Everything worked as it should and I have no complaints. Cleaned it again and everything seems to be meshing together fine. I'm very pleased with it and after a few hundred more rounds expect that it will get even better.

Cold not have been happier with this Pistol!! Zero problems. Over 1000 rounds shot Second Colt I own and fit and finish could not be beat Buds was great and purchase and shipping went easy easy easy!! If you are thinking about a 1911 buy this pistol you won't be sorry Nathan.

This was my first order with buds! I could not be more happy... I was worried about buying a handgun on-line , let alone living in California. It was a great experience, I have already ordered my 2nd gun through Buds and looking forward to getting my Springfield .45 cal... Awesome gun. Looks beautiful, the rosewood checkered grips really tie it all together and the rosewood is actually much darker than it appears to be in the pictures. I was very skeptical about buying from Bud's (This was my first transaction with Buds) but I am very satisfied. Gun arrived factory new and in the original blue Colt case. Took it to the range and fired 50 rounds down range and punched a hole right through the middle at 15, 25 and 45 feet. Incredibly solid gun. My only complaints about the gun is that first it does not have front strap checkering but I am already warming up to the smooth surface on the front of the grip. The second complaint about the gun is the Colt magazines that come with the gun. They are not the best so I would suggest swapping them out for some better mags like the Wilson Combat mags. Fits perfectly in my hand. Honestly one sick piece and I love getting compliments on this amazing piece of American History!

I picked up the new Colt XSE yesterday. After field stripping and cleaning I took it out for a test fire. Using the two Colt mags that came with it and Kimber and Wilson mags I shot one hundred rounds with mixed round nose and hollow point ammo. The gun functioned perfectly. Today I took it out and put another 150 rounds through it, a mix of FMJ, hollow points hand loads and even some of that stuff Air Marshals use that was laying around gathering dust. Again the Colt functioned perfectly. The trigger on the Colt is crisp and breaks clean I'd have to say as well as a Grand Raptor that I have that has had a trigger job. On top of all that the gun is beautiful, in a deep blue black finish. The grips are not like the photo or any other rosewood grips I have seen. They are very dark and look as though they were a Cherry Walnut, if their were some such thing. They are probably the first stock grips that I will not change for something nicer. I have several Kimbers and a couple of Colts and I put this one right at the top and highly recommend it if you get the chance to own one. This is the 29th gun I have bought from Bud's without any problems.

Fantastic Colt. Great deal with Gurney. This gun is beautiful. Mostly steel parts and minimum of MIM. It really is easy to tell the quality. As the other review mentioned, the sights on the XSE are not the ones in the current picture. My XSE has very high quality lo mount Champion three dot sights. Real nice. This baby has the full length one piece guide rod. I like them. I am now ready for my next Colt and I am buying from Buds.

I am very pleased with my new Government Model XSE.The fit on mine is excellent compared to the old GI guns.While the trigger is on the heavy side,it breaks clean with no creep or drag. Accuracy is very good and function has been 100% with a variety of loads, both factory and handloaded. It should be noted that the gun BUD's shipped me is the newer run of XSE's and has "NOVAK style" three dot sights and not the older style in the picture.Service from BUD'S was great and I will buy from them again.
