After much review, I was on the search for my first rifle, I chose this 6920 Trooper to be it. As one other has noted, when I received the rifle, the finish seemed somewhat oxidized and dry in spots all over the rifle. Somewhat displeasing, but it was easy to fix after cleaning and I was not aware on whether or not this is normal or common. Others purchased the rifle at a good point at which the price was a low $700 range, but at $1000 currently, it definitely felt disappointing that it was generally a standard model with the Centurion Handguard slapped on to compensate somewhat for the price. Other than those things, it is definitely a great rifle. After sighting the rifle in, I have only shot a few hundred rounds through it but I have not experienced any malfunctions or failures. It shoots great, feels great, and looks great. Has some setbacks, but it is still a great rifle overall and is definitely worth buying.

Item was delivered to FFL store within 48 hours. No visible nicks or scrapes or even machine shavings inside the bolt group or rifiling. Centurion handguard was tightly affixed to the receiver. It shot tight groups at 50yards. No jabronis at work here. Attaboy Colt. Attaboy budsgunshop.

On Buds - fast smooth transaction as always. Not much else you can say. On the rifle - bought it a few months ago at the $770-ish price point, which these babies may not see again for a while. Ran it through a 2 day carbine course, nothing too brutal but about 1200 rounds in two days in below freezing temperatures and did not have a single malfunction. The rail is nice, it does not have the built in QD mount like some of the Centurions do but you can spend $15 bucks and add one for your sling. This has quickly become one of my favorite ARs especially given what I paid for it.

Colt is a Colt. An investment. Having carried a Colt M4 many years my expectations were high and met. Awesome fit & finish, classic representation of a Colt product.

Great rifle! Love the look and the accessibility of the rifle out of the box. Shooting it is a dream and couldn't be more impressed. This has the same as internals as the standard 6920. Would recommend to anyone! Zero blemishes.

This is the second 6920 I have purchased. I must say though I'm sure it will function properly the fit and finish of this particular rifle was poor upon delivery. The Colt roll make was basically missing the "L" and the left side of the upper looked like it was oxidized. I was pretty sure upon delivery that I could remove the discoloration with cleaner etc but even after several attempts it remains discolored. I would have returned it for exchange had I not always intended on Duracoating it. If I had paid over 1,000 for this rifle I would have been pretty irritated however I paid just over 700 for it and intend it to be my go to so I'm overly irritated by the aesthetic condition. As long as it runs as flawlessly as my other 6920 I will be perfectly happy. It also had several nicks from the installation of the century arms hand guard. One unexpected positive however, which actually may be attributed to the overall poor quality control is that a Mil Spec carry handle arrived attached. With a retail of over $100 it was quite a nice surprise. Overall I am pleased with the rifle and will be Duracoating it which will make the blemishes unimportant. Most importantly this is a "battle rifle" not a safe queen and is still the standard in AR 15 reliability and function.

I've really only sighted in the gun and done a little more shooting, but I really like my colt trooper. My prior experience with semi-autos has left me with barrels that are only accurate for just a few shots. This colt holds on target much longer, in fact I haven't found the point where accuracy just falls off. I have not experienced any stoppages and it has accepted all the mags I have tried, magpul, lancer, brownells and mission first tactical(I don't recommend this one for some issues I've had at the house). All in all I really like the gun.

Rifle was shipped quickly and arrived in good condition. The price was a good deal for a Colt 6920, especially considering that the rifle came with a Centurion free float rail already installed. The roll marks on the receiver are consistent with other 6920's (M4 Carbine, Colt Defense). The rifle shot as well as any other Colt AR15, and was 100% reliable during the short firing session I conducted with it (enough rounds to zero the iron sights I added, and the red dot optic I added, as well). The only negative thing I could say is that the rifle had a few very minor blemishes on the finish of the installed handguard and the upper receiver, but that sort of comes with the territory when buying Colts. Overall, I am very pleased with the rifle, and for the price, it's a great buy for a reputable, duty-grade AR15.
