Well I purchased this rifle because of its cool factor like the twisted threaded barrel and the BDU camouflage. Besides that I was really impressed with the accuracy. I don’t like short barrel 22s for target shooting and the 20 inch barrel was just what I was looking for. Can you find a super accurate 22 that might outperform this one? Sure but for a lot more money.

This savage is the perfect addition to any rimfire collection. The spiral fluted 20" barrel, cerakoted action and custom stock are all finished amazingly. Of course accuracy is superb and trigger is smooth. Such a value for the price and as always buds got it to me quickly and effortlessly. Highly recommend

I really like this rifle. A friend had had one and I had to have one also. Well made and accurate. I did have a small issue with ejecting. I believe I have it fixed now. I would recommend this rifle to other people.

I am very pleased and proud to own this rifle. The color scheme is very attractive. The value presented is very good, as you get a fluted, threaded barrel, scope rail, adjustable trigger, and enlarged bolt knob, all with an awesome paint job. The rifle is very accurate as well. There were some cons with mine, however. My specific example showed what looked like plier marks on the sling swivels. Whoever installed them must have gotten a little too rough. Also, the EGW rail included with the gun was installed using hex head screws. Upon receiving the gun, I checked to make sure these screws were properly tightened and torqued, which they were not. As I went to tighten them up to the EGW recommended 20 in-lbs, the hex heads stripped before reaching the proper torque value. I contacted EGW, who were surprised to hear that hex head bolts were used, as they changed to torx heads years ago. Someone at Savage must have had some hex bolts to use up. EGW was nice enough to send me 5 replacement bolts and a torx bit for free. Lastly, and this is the case generally with these Mark IIs and not this specific model, the magazine system and release leaves a bit to be desired. The magazines are simple sheet metal welded together. I have heard reports that the welds come apart, and the edges of the mag, while not exactly sharp, are not very comfortable to hold or load either. Also, the magazines do not have a very positive click when inserted and you have to fiddle with them a bit to get them to seat. The magazine release feels a little flimsy and lacks tactile feedback as well. Finally, when loading the magazines, you have to make sure the final round is pointed up at the proper angle or you may get a misfeed. All in all, the issues were pretty minor, and I think that this is still a great buy.

PURCHASED THE RIFLE TO RUN A NEW Q SUPPRESSOR AND TO MY HORROR I HAD ALIGNMENT ISSUES DUE TO LOOSE THREAD PITCH AND EXCESSIVE COATING ON THE BEARING SURFACE WHERE THE BACK OF THE SUPPESSOR TIGHTENS UP TO THROWING THE ALIGNMENT OFF. THE OVERALL GUN IS SAVAGE GOOD FOR THE MONEY QUALITY AS ALWAYS , BUT WHOEVER DID THE COATING OF THE BARREL DID A SLOP JOB THAT NOW I HAVE TO DEAL WITH . IF I HADN'T CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT WITH A BORE ROD I WOULD HAVE HAD A BAFFLE STRIKE . SAME SUPPRESSOR ON 3 MARK 4 RUGERS AND A RUGER CHARGER NO ALIGNMENT ISSUES , BUYER FOR SUPPRESSOR USE BEWARE . OTHER THAN THAT THE SUPER COOL DIPPED STOCK AND TWISTED BARREL AND COLOR COMBO IS SWEET , AND THE TRIGGER IS AWSOME ON MINE. BUDS SHIPPING WAS JOHNNY ON THE SPOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE THERE . HOPEFULLY THIS GUN IS THE ONLY ONE WITH OVER SPRAY COATING ISSUES .

I am very pleased with this rifle. I am a Marine Corp Didabled Desert Storm Veteran and I love the chocolate chip camouflage. I bought a Leupold scope and a chocolate chip sling to match the stock. I sighted it in at 100 yards and it hits a dime at 100 yards. The ordering process was easy and it shipped and arrived quickly. I have never had any issues with Buds guns. I highly recommend them.

Picked up the rifle today at my local FFL, Buds shipping process was absolutely trouble free. The rifle is exactly as pictured, beautiful and flawless. Everything looks great, fit, finish and threaded barrel. The action is amazingly smooth for a rifle at this price point. I’ll be mounting a good scope and will range testing soon. I’ll update my review with the results. So far, it’s 5 stars all the way.
