The fit and finish on this revolver is amazing. The bluing is like Colt's bluing of days gone by, and the color case hardening of the frame is striking. While I'm not an expert on SAA revolvers, it's my understanding that Uberti Firearms are some of the most authentic and period correct reproductions out there. I bought this for my wife to go with her Marlin lever action in .357 so she's ready for CAS now. The buying experience with Bud's was great as always. Buy with confidence.

Bud's Gun Shop level service as always. Best price I could find on this gun and faster shipping than expected. Entire process was smooth and easy. As far as the gun, The Uberti Cattleman II - "5.5 inch steel" model is a great gun. I wanted a no-frills tool that I can use and not feel bad about it, and that's what this is. High quality, good "in-hand" feel. Very nice case-hardened finish. Was a little disappointed that the retractable firing pin style hammer removes the C-O-L-T nostalgia, but I appreciate the safety factor of being able to load 6 rounds confidently. The gun shoots true and the action is smooth. As a recreational shooter I don't see the need to change any springs or have any work done to it in its current state. The trigger also fits my preference - light, but not too light, zero creep when cocked, and little creep on the back end. The FFL dealer I had it shipped through is a competition shooter and he and his wife both shoot Ubertis, so he was able to explain how great the guns are. Once I received this gun I immediately wanted to add the 7.5 inch 45 Colt to the collection. Hopefully the boss lets.

Finish is outstanding, operation is good, and point of impact is accurate to point of aim. My only gripe is that with the new safety feature with the retracting firing pin alters the revolver from being a true Colt 1873 SAA clone. With this new feature, there is no longer any first click as you cock the weapon. The first click occurs only at half-cock and so there are only three clicks to full-cock, not the four that a real Colt SAA would have. I would have much preferred that Uberti offered the buyer a choice whether to purchase a model with this new feature or without.
