The Remington R1 Executive is exactly as described by Remington. The round butt fits your hand perfect. It came with two 7 round factory mags. I changed them out with 8 round Wilson mags for reliability plus one more 45. Very accurate with a decent trigger. Buds on the other hand when they say up to 15 business days, they mean 15 business days. I thought they were never gonna ship the gun.

I have only had it for a short while, and in comparison to the 5 other 1911's I have (different manufacturers), the experience has been very positive. Here are the things that make me say that:
- Solid build (no cheap spring, grips, guiding rod etc.)
- Light
- Comfortable in the hand (the rounded spring housing is the main reason I purchased)
- Easier to reassemble than most 'compact' type 1911s (which is typically the main frustration with 1911s)
- Seems very accurate

Very pleased with the Remington R1 Ultra Light Executive. Trigger, fit and finish is excellent as well as the sights. You must be careful in cocking the slide as the top of the rear sight is very sharp and can cut our hand if making too much contact. It will function very well if you have to cock the slide or clear a round is you only have one arm to use. The edge will catch perfectly on the edge of a belt, shoe, tire if your prone, etc.
My only concern and this applies to Remington not the firearm is that the owners manual does not have any instruction for this guns take down or trigger adjustment. It does not have a barrel bushing due to the bull type barrel. The guide rod has a small hole in which you have to insert a tool, using a paper clip or in my case a very small allen wrench cut to length. I fault Remington for these issues. Typical of the companies we deal with today unfortunately.

Received this Remington 1911 Executive in one day. Wow what service from Buds. Took it to the range shot 150 rds of 230 ball and 50 rds of 230 flat nose. NOT ONE PROBLEM. This Remington is built tough. The guide rod assembly is heavy duty. The night sights are excellent and the design of the gun makes it perfect for conceal carry. I shot it at 10, 20, and 25 yards. Very accurate and reliable. The fit and finish are great. For the price I feel this is one of the best bargins out there. Remington really stepped up its game in the last couple of years and are back to being Remington again, QUALITY FIREARMS.Buds is the best way to go if your looking for a firearm. I have been shooting for over 60 yrs and that's my opinion. Thanks Bob
