I have owned many revolvers over the years. Many top names with top quality including S&W, Colt and more. I find the Rugers to be at the very peak of overall quality and modern design. One of the best features is the cylinder release is a very ergonomic squeeze design far superior to other brands. This GP100 is solid as a rock.

Can’t beat a Ruger GP-100 for a tough, reliable, good looking pistol. I got the 6 inch barrel because I already had the 4 inch barrel and love them both. And you can’t beat the prices you get at BGS!

Buds shipped my product within a week and arrived at my local FFL. The firearm looked beautiful just like the photos. Since i have had the gun, I have fired about 2000 rounds of 38 special through it and around 500 rounds of 357. It's a little heavy for me, with the 6 inch barrel but I am loving it. I found the 4 inch barrel to be just a little too much recoil. The 6 inch barrel makes it much easier. Single action I am shooting bulls eye center mass 9 times out of 10. Double Action is another story, still working on that though I do hit center mass with it. I usually shoot 5, 7 and 10 years but have shot it up to 25 yards. I don't think I hit the target much at that range. The trigger pull on single action is very nice and easy. I may look into a mod for the double action, online reviews put it at anywhere from 7 to 9 pounds of pressure. I would say that is correct. The revolver is easy to clean, just looks very cool. This is not my first gun purchase but shooting is a new hobby of mine and I am liking it a lot. I had looked at S&W 686 and the Colt Python. The colt was out of my price range and the S&w just did not look as cool so the Ruger was purchased. Not disappointed in it at all.

Love this revolver, I've wanted one forever... ran over 100 rounds through it at the range... both .38 and 357 with no problems. Seems to be balanced really well, just a really accurate and fun gun to shoot. Definitely my favorite revolver. Couldn't find this model GP100 locally. Buds always seems to have what I'm looking for.

I love a .357 magnum revolver in a big gun and this one does not disappoint. Shooting .38 Special is like shooting .22s. Very accurate, heavy and feels excellent in the hand. The gun is also very well balanced and felt recoil is big .357 loads is really minimal. I highly recommend this firearm.

Incredible Firearm. I have always been a Ruger fan but this is my first centerfire revolver. It functioned flawlessly and accurately on the firing range. It is built like a tank but functions like a dream, very smooth double action trigger and adjustable sights, which function without adjustment for me. This has replaced a 19ll for home defense, hunting side arm and backwoods protection. The length and weight greatly reduced the recoil for quicker on-target acquisition. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a totally dependable weapon for self-defense.

I bought my first Ruger GP100 in 1986. I bought this new GP100 for a friend. His wife is giving it to him as a surprise gift for his upcoming 60th birthday.
We have done some shooting together and he loves my GP100. It does shoot very well. This new GP100 holds seven rounds; mine holds only six. I have yet to shoot the new one but it surely will be a winner.
Fit and finish are excellent. Both old and new are solid, heavy handguns.
Friend will be happy.

Ruger at it's best with this revolver it definitely lives up to its reputation of being built like a tank with bank vault like lock up and handles full power .357 loads with ease I love the wood and rubber grips the comfort is amazing and I love the revolver

A happy customer. I live close to the Sevierville Tennessee store but they didn't have it in stock so I had it shipped from the home office and the young lady on the phone was very helpful. Ordered on Friday and it arrived the following Monday. It's a fine revolver,built like a tank, and I was pleased it came with a green fiber optic. I got to test it on site at the indoor range and that was a top notch experience for sure. The range master was extremely courteous and friendly. I will be back just to shoot.

Excellent service from Buds. It was my first time purchasing them and I was more than pleased. As for the revolver itself, I think its a fantastic buy. As others have mentioned, the gun's reputation for being built like a tank is well deserved. It IS heavy, but not enough to prevent an average sized man from shooting it comfortably all day. The extra weight really eats up the recoil; this is the most manageable pistol in .357 I have ever fired. My 12 year old nephew was able to fire warm .357 from this for a few hours easily, and he's a little on the small side for his age. The grips look nice. I had thought that I would be replacing the grips with a hogue initially, but 250 rounds later I'm not so sure, they're a lot more comfortable than they look.
Accuracy is fantastic, and what you'd expect from a revolver with a 6 inch barrel. I'm not an expert marksman by any stretch, and man did this pistol make me look at the range! In single action. I didn't do so well with the heavy pull in double action, but I just need more practice. If I can't get it, there are aftermarket spring kits to lighten the pull. ALthough a bit heavy, the pull in double action is smooth, and stages easily.
The cylinder has very little play when locked, almost imperceptible.
The sights are great, and I love the easy swap out mechanism for the front site post.
Really, the only con I can think of is that disassembly of pistol was pretty hard, due entirely to how difficult it is to remove and reinsert the trigger group. They may improve as the pistol loosens up.
All in all I'm very pleased with the quality of this revolver, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a revolver.
