Purchased this A22 magnum have been looking for one for 3 years seems like they are always out of stock! Buds had it at a reasonable price with a rebate. Already have the A17 has been a very accurate rife. Hopefully this will be the same! I'm happy with my first gun purchase at buds everything went well! Thanks

Have a half dozen 22 mag rifles this rifle is more accurate then most of them. I wish the mags were easier to load

Very fun to shoot! It's a little picky on ammo types, but over all it's a plinking machine! Thanks Buds!

BUDS GUN SHOP... two thumbs up as always... after examining & shooting the savage A22M .22 MAG i really like the rifle, grouped good at 50 yds so far shooting off the tailgate of my pickup on a windy day using CCI 40 GR JHP 1875 FPS. THE MAGAZINE LOADS & WORKED WELL. contrary to the product description on your buds website which states that the reciever is aluminum...the reciever on mine is STEEL , a definate plus. all the parts are well made & machined, dis-assembly is easy & straight forward. the stock is...a little cheezy however, i did go around the entire stock to break all the sharp edges with #400 sand paper, some of the edges were quite sharp ( i hate sharp edges on guns ) the molding flash was also a little much but not a big problem either, just smooth it down with the # 400 sandpaper... really happy i went for the savage .22 mag semi auto. my opinion is it beats the CZ semi auto in every way, look at the details of the CZ and if you know guns you'll see why and it's $100 buks more money...no thanks. OVERALL GOOD JOB SAVAGE. i like it ! for those who want a fancier stock they are available, another plus ! good shooting everyone... hope you can find ammo ! cheers !

Gun shipped fast as usual, Buds did a great job. Rifle shot well at 50-75 yards all day only thing I hate is the magazine, what a pain for me. Other then that good gun.

First off, as usual doing business with Bud's is awesome. The gun shipped fast and was just as expected so not much surprise there. As to the gun itself, I was looking to replace an old lever action 22 magnum and wanted a semi automatic. I looked at CZ and a number of other guns before deciding on the Savage. Overall the gun is great, haven't sighted it in but I expect it'll be a tack driver. I only have one complaint about the gun.
Savage, if you read these reviews by chance, fix the abomination that you call a magazine! That must have been an implement of torture in medieval times. Hard to load, cheaply made, doesn't seat in the mag well very good, and the rounds rattle. You hit it out of the park with the gun itself but those magazines are terribad.

Purchased my Savage A22M22WMR from Buds because of previous dealings. Again, I was not disappointed. My FFL had the weapon almost before their shipping had posted that the weapon was being shipped. I give "Buds" a 5 Star rating once again for a good group to deal with.

I have run this gun through the paces and have not had a hiccup yet . The only thing that I found wrong was the clip is kindly hard to load but the gun is a tact driver . I have got good results out at 75 yards with a dime covering the shot groups . That is a good group I don't care if you are a first time shooter or and old pro like me . You have got to make room for human movement ! Good gun and thanks to savage and Buds for getting me the gun of my dreams .!

Can't say enough about Buds!! I purchased a Savage 22 Mag for my husband's birthday. I had gotten the run around from some local sellers and they none could beat Buds price or customer service. I was in a tight because of issues with local dealers and needed the gun to be shipped ASAP. Customer service was very responsive and helpful. The gun arrived the day before his birthday and I couldn't have been happier! Very satisfied with the product and service!!

Mounted a scope & headed to the range very optimistic. Which didn't last long. With a variety of ammo including the new CCI A22 mag ammo supposedly made for this rifle there were several major problems. Weak primer strikes were random, sometimes it would fire then not on the next round. This was during the same mag/ammo, nothing changed just wouldn't fire the next round. The other problem was the mag falling out also randomly. Sometimes after a round actually fired, sometimes when I'd cycle the action after a mis-fire. The last problem was with the Accu trigger. Felt funny.....press it & there would be a click but it wouldn't release the sear, again this was random. Sometimes when you first pressed the trigger it would fire as it should, random. By this time I was more than a little annoyed & the only reason I tried as much as I did was to be sure to have as many problems identified before contacting Savage. Even with all the random & at times surprising firings, I got nice tight groups !! I tried over the course of 3 days to get a person to actually get on the line when calling Savage. Your call is important, you are the 7th caller in line etc. After about 20 minutes on hold with my phone sitting there on speaker while I was watching a football game I heard a real person !! Gave her the serial number, brief info on why I was calling & soon had a return shipping label emailed to me. The rifle is headed back to Savage. Soon as I get it back & have been to the range I'll post the results

Issues: 1) The magazine is tricky to load, yet feels like it will ware in after noting the improvement after 150 rounds loaded. The cartridge divider bars in this rotary design are too wide with sharp edges because of the plastic solution for the rotary itself, I’m sure that a 3rd party will create a metal version if this product family survives as happened with the Ruger 10/22. 2) The magazine also resists insertion when loaded and into the magazine compartment with the bolt closed, same issue as a number of other non-Savage rifles with rotary magazines. 3) The magazine also has issues with staying engaged because of the plastic design of the front magazine catch. Because the rest of this product worked better than good, I ordered three more magazines, just in case. Good Stuff: A) Same hole shooting on two out of three commercial cartridges at 25 yards from a CAT system (Computer Aided Targeting), the third still held a Dime sized group of 50 rounds even though the barrel heated up in all three cases to over 116 decrease. This was achieved with no beading or insulation between the barrel and the plastic stock. B) This model has a nice balance, opposed to several with heavy barrels and several more in more of a military configuration that shoot much worse at long distances. C) As most know, the 22 WMR is a super flat cartridge if launched from a long barrel, not short carbine length barrels. After sighting in at 25 yards, it was no problem making a 3” group with a 3.8 to 4.4 rise in elevation, depending on the cartridge, using the CAT laser to mark the spot. Closing: The rifle will be put through a 500 round rapid load and fire test after the barrel is bedded and isolated from the plastic stock with cleaning once half way through with every shot recorder by the CAT system for heat and dirt effects or drift patterns. If this one passes, it will become the exterminator replacement equipment for the Clark 10/22 and the Sig T522 in 22lr.

Appears to be another great rifle from Savage. I have only shot it enough to get it sighted in with a Burris Fastfire II. So far I am very happy with it.
